yeah im on about the dogbone mount, sorry dont know about the others never done them, same goes for this 4th mount the 172s have? never even seen one of them lol
to check the dogbone mount open the bonnet and hold the engine and try and rock it back and forward, it should have a little bit of movement but it should feel pretty solid, mine used to swing back and forward quite the thing when my gearbox mount was gone.
also you can stick a jack under the...
probably the lower gearbox mount, their crap.
i replaced mine with a 172 twisted style mount with uprated Powerflex polly bushes from K-Tec, its one of the best mods ive ever done, the gearstick doesnt jump about anymore when you come on and off the accelerator, infact its solid. moving slowly...
lol reanult wanted to cut my mates grill and someone even said a hole in the bonnet!
10 minz with a screwdriver and i had it open with no damage done, £30 for a new release cable and it was sorted
my new cable had they weights too and my old one didn, they just have changed it, maby thats why mine is so light now.

Ive got Eagle F1s on my Dynamique 195/50 and they are mental, especially in the wet. my mums got 4 budget cheapos on her dynamique and i nearly lost it on the stirling services roundabout at 35mph, mine does it at 60mph, get to 65mph and it starts to slide slightly
car looks awesome.
lol at the black one, looks like as alex said it could be exhaust trims as it looks like its too close to the towing hook on teh right hand side

doesnt the 100 have the 6 speed megane box or am i talking pish?
make sure the tyres are the same condition on opposite sides, front and back.
get the tracking checked
check dampers & bushes
check tyre pressures
and as john said, remember the roads are terrible at this time of year
Powerflex bushes make a massive difference!! i always said if i get another clio, only mods ill be doing is suspension and powerflex bushes in the mount.
the gearstick has no movement at all in it, it feels much tighter and better to drive
only time ive seen one snap is when my driveshaft went causing the gearbox to lock up and snapping the mount. car needed a new gearbox, driveshaft, mount, cat/downpipe.
as for replacing it its easy,
use a socket and a hammer to get the old bushes out, put the new powerflex polly ones in...
