I’m 6ft and 21 stone, don’t tell me you’re too big for a Clio![emoji23]
If you’re going German then it will have 3k finance wheels, air and over a quarter of a million miles on the clock. Like every other German car or van ever[emoji23]
Being at uni was fairly easy until third year, it got semi-difficult then. I especially found it hard to find enough time to get pissed and sit around playing Xbox all day in my pants, those 2 things clashed so it made it quite a stressful time
Done a few more bits
Put together the gearbox mount, what a faff, couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to do it[emoji23] Big thanks to @JamesBryan and @STEVE.M as I’d probably still be scratching my head if not[emoji23] I was also missing a small spacer from underneath so had to use a few...
I’m sure I have it the correct way now, just the gearbox spider bolt that’s being a turd. Can either of you double check this way is right and I just have to get heavy handed with the dead blow hammer to knock that little s**t in?[emoji23]
Bought a set of mounts from a member on here but unsure if it’s all there for the gearbox mount. Can see online that there appears to be another part but I don’t have it
This is what I have
A pic I found on the internet
Also, which way does it go? On the Vibra website they don’t have...
I bet your mrs was cheering when it went, got a bit disappointed when you bought an even older one and now has completely given up with the 940 back lol!!
Dare you to buy another
True, they don’t even last long on a standard 172 ffs haha
At that point it goes from a reliable daily to a mad build, that’s the only reason I held off of the idea doing it to mine lol
Can get the 1.9 dTi from the MK1 Scenic/Clio, uses the JC5 gearbox. 90bhp but chuck some new injector nozzles on it and a hybrid then roll some proper coal[emoji6]
Loaded the Megane up today with boxes filled with Clio parts. These boxes are only half of the things I have for the 172
It just shows how long I’ve not touched the Clio for by looking at the steering wheel, gip
Good job I’ve got a 197 steering wheel cause that’s rank lol. Finally...
Tyres start off cheap but good, something like NS2R 195/50/16 or Michelin PS3. Can pick them up for less than £100 for a full set on eBay (part worn, few laps usage)
As for brakes, DS2500/DS3000 and some Standard High Carbon discs. You’re probably best off sticking some decent lowering springs...
No mate, engine oil/crankcase breather
Take the airbox off and see if there's a lake of oil in the inlet lol. If there is then that's your issue, just needs the pipe, inlet and throttle body cleaning out and running
