    £5k Trackcar.....

I've had two GTi's, epic little cars. I see them in just the normal places really. See them popping up on ebay here and there. Probably around 3 - 4k for a well-spec'd one with a strong shell. The 106s are few and far between though

    £5k Trackcar.....

Cant believe nobody has mentioned a Saxo VTS yet. The few nice GTi's that are left are just beginning to creep out of that budget, but you can get a properly well-sorted VTS easily.

Steering all over the place after suspension change

Are the arrows on the camber bolts in the right position? For example, looking from the front of the car, if the bolt on the driver's side is at 9 o'clock, then the bolt on the passenger's side should be at 3 o'clock, so they would be pointing towards each other. If one was at 6 o'clock then the...

Returning member - back in a Clio!

Back in the game after a couple years out! Needs a couple of jobs doing - engine bay tidy being the first. Cosmetically it's not a mint example by any means, otherwise it's a really well sorted car with a decent spec. It's pretty nippy around the b-roads, to say the least. Ktec decat Pure...

Great looking car mate, that's some colour! I think it's crying out for some wheel spacers though.

    RM04 MOR - Arctic Blue 182

It's not unbearable by any means. My cup was my daily and it didn't really bother me. Gave it more of a race-car feel ha. But that was just the lower gearbox mount, I can't speak for the others.

    RM04 MOR - Arctic Blue 182

Looking great fella! Are you planning on putting the front plate back on? Need to remove the tape if not! 100% invest in a lower gearbox mount if it hasn't already got one, there's a noticeable increase in cabin vibrations but completely worth it. The feel through the gear lever is so much sharper.

    106 turbo winter project

Nice, I bought it straight from Constella who did a lot of work on it for him over the years. I did replace my rusty cobalt GTi with it , if thats what you're referring to?

    106 turbo winter project

Sold it late 2017 to a chap down south who builds race cars. He only bought it because it was a mint caged shell, it was stripped and he sold the rest of the parts. Don't know what it's doing now sadly. It was an ex 400hp turbo hence the plate. Fast car featured etc... so had a lot of history!

Sorry, just read you've worked on saxos before etc so you likely know your stuff better than me!! Project looks great though.

    106 turbo winter project

Had a couple of 106s myself a few years back. God I miss em. I wouldn't worry too much about new exhaust wrap smoking for a while, mine did the same. Probably just oil/dirt from your hands when you fitted it. Also I feel your pain about the cam ladders. They're actually made out of chocolate...

Would you spend £18,200 on a Clio 182?

If you're going up against a modern hot hatch such as the Fiesta.. Why not also go for a low boost engine rather than bodies? For 18k I'd be wanting heated seats and a great sound system as well. Not just a track car.

    The life of... SharkyUK's Trophy

I'm massively relieved to hear you haven't been charged much as of yet, as I was going to make the same point as @Starlet_gt in my first comment but it was already dragging on a little. As you've tried to stress over this thread, there's a huge amount of work required, I do understand that...

Don't come on this forum much anymore bit I like keeping an eye on this thread. Anyway, It seems like Mick is kinda taking the piss to be honest, there's just no way it should be taking this long. Not when the guy supposedly knows Clio's like the back of his hands and has got surely got...

Surely stud and nut conversion can be almost the last thing to be done? Shouldn't hold up progress, I assume it's just using normal wheel bolts at the moment?
