Ben, the 16v came out in 91/92 yea......how long have fully synthetic oils been out ?....did they exist when the 16v was developed ?.....reason i mention this is have you ever seen a 0W or 5W semi synthetic ?......it doesnt exist afaik......the lowest cold rating you can get in a semi is 10W...

yea i know about the idle motor Ben, i had a new one put on in Feb last year, if the speedo cable doesnt fix it i think ill try a new motor, though there is something in the haynes about setting it up, so im gonna try that first and also check my MAP sensor...

Tom how exactly does your car act ?
have you tried anythin yet to fix it ?
with the 16v the first thing i would do but be to remove, clean, and re-fit the ISCV, this is the usual culprit and obviously cleaning it is free, my car doesnt have one of these grrrrrr
right, could this be anything to do with idle problems
what exactly is this ?........what does it sense ?
ive read a few comments about the speedo cable and a sensor it has on it, is this the sensor ?....
is it seperate from the actual cable ?
well ive replaced the coolant temp sensor, and the lambda so far, and it turned out to be neither of those but the car seems to have appreciated it so i can live with the expense
problem is really buggin me though as ive had a diagnostic on it and the garage couldnt find any problems
im so chuffed with everythin to do with that day, the mag article has just made it such a special event and everyone seemed to enjoy it too which made all the hassle of organisin it totally worthwhile

right guys it seems its the speedo cable i need to replace in an attempt to solve my idle problems, and not the accel cable as i first thought :oops:

ive tried andyspares and euro car parts but neither have em, can...
dunno how you even drive mate with that pressure, i tried it once and it was horrendous, drove straight back to the petrol station to put some more air in
