Does anyone know the specs of these? I asked Prima racing directly and the reply I got was....
"If you fit these cams on standard timing marks, you will achieve the figures we have stated."
The price isn't bad but no real details :( are they the same as the Piper cams?
INR F4R Fast Road...
The side strips on my ph1 have been sprayed silver with a rattle can...badly...
I want to do them black again so I'll need to strip the paint and give them a freshen up.
What are the best products to do this?
Just put a Sparco front brace on my ph1 172 and the bonnet needs to be pushed closed rather than dropped but it doesn't seem to be touching.
Anyone else had an issue?
Right, its cold, wet and windy and I need to get my steering wheel off my ph1 172 fairly quickly.
Can anyone tell me how long to leave it after disconnecting the battery and what size sockets etc. are required?
I might do the same. Is be interested to see what they offer. I did a group buy with them a couple of years ago, £275 inc vat for a pair of cams and delivery
Out of interest how much extra back pressure do boxes with a diagonal perforated pipe (corner to corner or centre to corner) make compared with a straight perforated pipe (centre to centre)? They'll be slightly quieter but what is the trade off with back pressure or does it not make that much...
Lots of threads on here about the RS2, lots of love for it but what are the differences between the normal and extra.
RS2 vs RS2 extra.
What maps are available with or without cams, bigger injectors etc.
I've seen references to changing engine mounts and other parts.
No, but running boost with a silenced backbox that has 3 baffles and 2" pipe vs a silenced box with a straight through perforated pipe and 2.5" pipe will help.
The turbo already makes it quieter and it has a silenced centre section so realistically I can't see it being much louder than a...
More boost won't make much difference
N/A cars get louder as you tune them because you have less restrictions on the exhaust side, decat, straight through exhaust etc. and because valve overlap increases with longer duration cams so you get induction noise exiting through the exhaust, more so...
I've seen this done before where you can spray the inside of the headlight black which I want to do to my Ph1 172.
Has anyone done this and if so is there a guide?
The turbo takes a lot of noise out compared to an N/A engine.
I'd go for something that is moderately loud like a twin silencer yozza as the turbo will reduce the dB output and it should sounds quite nice.
I know how much the stuff weighs! I've done it on a couple of cars in the past but they were purely loud track biased cars so it didn't really matter if it made the car noticable noisier.
My main concern is road noise intruding the cabin. The Mrs won't like it...
Has anyone removed the sound deadening and tar pads but retained a full interior?
I'm looking to lighten the car without loosing front/rear seats, carpet, door cards, dash etc.
If so I was wondering has it made the cabin noticably louder inside or not?
