genuinely saw this happening with cheap tyres, i didnt beleive it either until replaced and it suddenly stopped, it was only happening in winter on greezy roads, driving slowly too!
172 will handle terrible on they 172s, if you think its amazing wait till you try it on 15s!!
engine management light could be anything really better to get it on a diagnostics machine, is it still pulling smoothly, just slow? no missfires?
when was the belts done and where?
i dont care if someone is used to driving a range rover or something else massive and heavy, a small light clio as much as it may not feel as refined its still safe and stable. i had mine atleast a few times a week at 140 odd mph and never once felt unsafe in it then suddenly it felt like it was...
i guarantee it needs rear dampers, been there done that, £90 for 2 genuine renault rear dampers, problem solved.
i nearly sold mine after playing about with tracking, new tyres, etc to cure the problem.
at 17 my 172 cost me £650 a month that was fuel payment and insurance.
the rest was all on top of that, tax, mot, tyres, servicing etc
i made £720 a month at the time!
bit of a distance for you but Colin @ Car n Bike in Bonybridge has always done my cars, just recently resprayed a wing on my 2 month old GT and you would never know it was done!
cheers dude, waiting on a few gaskets, hoses, battery and airbox coming then it will be good to go so it can get a run every now and again, anyone recomend a good upholstery cleaner to remove it?
asuming were taking about an Rstuner map then that would be my choice first (i have both sportlines and this map and the map made the biggest difference)
i thought £1,000 at 17 was bad on my 1.2 16v the day i passed! i went on my mums policy for a for 8 months and it brought it down to £600 then started my own at 17 when i bought my 172 to build up ncb, got 5 now :)
that is impressive results from a spray can! you have skills! car looks good too i like the colour combo just dont go overboard and start doing wing mirrors and badges in yellow or i recon it will become too much
belts needing changed is the only expensive service item you will come across compaired to your average non turbo car! they are pretty cheap to run, spark plugs are around £50 but only need done every (cant remember think its 3yrs or something, they last for ages)
gearbox failures on cars that...
Re: My Clio Mk3 1.2 172 Replica
wouldnt bother with the headlights, if you cant afford RS ones id just clean up your ones like the car above so they look nice as they all look cloudy these days on most cars.
needs wide track or spacers on the front and lowered and some tyre gel and it will...
expression likely, but why would you want the lowest trim level? Dynamique is the one to go for wouldnt bother with any others unless you fancy an Initiale but you will need to go 5 door lol
of course if you prefer the ph1 then no point in getting a ph2 just your getting a much nicer interior and newer car in ph2 form for the same or less money as there is more about.
ive had a few mk2 clio DCi's and currently got a new mk3 one, i do about 300 miles a week so dont really need a diesel but i dont like putting 300 miles a week onto my ph1, i wanted something brand new, reliable, cumfy, quiet with loads of toys so thats why i got the dci, being a fully specced...
the 1.2 16v is fine, their isnt a great deal of difference between that and the 1.4 16v, not worth paying big insurance difference over anyway. avoid the 1.2 8v tho.
as above had both and they are not worth changing, if you do a search i looked into this a few years back and had some good threads with info but then i drove one and realised it was a stupid idea as it was the same cost and work to convert to 2.0 16v
