finished work at 10pm on tuesday after a 13 hour shift and decided to fit my 182 manifold and decat lol worked on it from 11 till 7am, 8 hour shift on the thing lol not the easyest job on axel stands!
anyway..... the noise with the k-tec recessed exhaust is mental, still sounds quiet about...
unbolt the backbox and pull it off.
unbolt the 2 13mm bolts at the cat, remove the centre section and backbox from the car
new 1 if its brand new will come with all clamps and fittings, only thing id get is a tube of exhaust assembly paste and possibly a rear exhaust mount if its shagged...
yes, aparently they are better finished on 182s but not 100% sure on that.
182 manifold isnt really about power, its more about increased torque low down in the revs, im fitting mine with decat on friday
182 has different manifold, free flowing cat, different ecu map and better exhaust...
space wise i can see it fitting as it squeezes in a 172 bay only problem being the gearbox size, but it should fit in a 197
BUT... the cost will be huge, and why butcher a fairly new car fitting a different engine, maby its just me but id sell up and buy the quicker car in the first place!
ive had mine for a year, bought it mint condition with just over 20k on the clock 4yr old. in the last year its had....
new exhaust
lambda sensor
2 rear shocks
all 4 engine mounts
new battery
its never let me down or left me stranded just niggles that ive replaced eventually
just get a cheap cat from ebay and smash its c**t in, thats what i done with my old 1.2 16v
as said above, use new bolts and it'll be fine when changing
hi guys, at work so cant phone renault, going in 2moro 2 order a few bits and need part numbers and prices please, car is a 2003 172
Both botom arms
both track rod ends
O/s drive shaft
Both front dampers
Cheers
all bolts are fine, everything is fitted properly, dogbone mount is perfect.
fred, powerflex mount isnt fitted anymore and all mounting points been replaced so cant the problem being related to that.
my engine standard with just an itg filter and a very restrictive patern part centre section ran 173bhp on the same day a trophy ran 180, 2 182s ran 175ish, a 1.2 16v ran 74bhp and alis V6 ran just under 250 iirc? so pretty acurate results all round so there is decent 172s about, if your...
i knew the cold running could possibly be the car needing maped due to exhaust and filter mods so wasnt that bothered by it, and it only happens for 5 minutes anyway so not the end of the world.
the knocking could be the mount position, although ive pulled the engine as far forward as i can...
ok guys ill start from the begining, my cars not running right, hasnt been for a while, found it hard to put my finger on what exactly is wrong, few people have drove it and said its all in my head but after driving a mates 172 and him driving mine we both agree something is wrong.
there...
tbh if you get a genuine 8bhp then on the 1.2 thats pretty good bhp per £ when you think what people spend on exhausts and filters.
i always ment to get mine mapped but never got round to it!
thats a different part number from the one ive got too.
is it the silver metal twisted mount you got or is it a black one thats not twisted (non RS one)
