mine is 60 on 15s and doesnt even look low lol
arch liners are just held in with screws and couple of they silly clips that always brake when you take them out lol. guy at renault gives me them for free tho so not a problem.
im going about -100mm on 15s
complain to renault, their advice has caused u to kill ur car.
if you can do the work yourself just rebuild it, stick a 1.6 bottom end on it.
if not replace the full engine.
maby you should bring your nan to some of the cliosport meets then, seems she must be a much better driver than the guys i was keeping up with no problem, the ones holding me up in the bends... and some of them had track day experiance..
i know that lol but i find that taking the revs over 5,500 it just dies that much that if you do change up it pulls harder when the next gear comes in than it does in the previous gear so just makes it slower really.
lol well im 18 1yrs ncb..... so 2.0 is probably a no no for less than £3500 a year, but might consider it, will hold off till pay day and see what ive got, might get a 2.0 conversion + coilovers.
does the kit come with hubs/brakes?
i cant insure a 2.0 conversion cheply, 1.6 conversion i can insure cheap tho, already had quotes.
i could do a 2.0 conversion but a 900kg 1.6 clio pushing 180bhp would be pretty nice, although VERY VERY expensive to get there.
as for the hastle, i dont mind, i call it fun rather than hastle...
i used to take mine to 6,000rpm in first then 5,500rpm after that.
i find it tends to drop off the power after 5,500/5,600rpm so no point going any higher.
I think that they are quite quick in a straight line but they arent very good in the corners.
hahahah cant beleive i heard that from a punto driver! puntos handle bollox doesnt matter what suspension you put on it, the chassis is toss!
well after nearly 7 months of planning and saving etc its ready to go ahead and get started.
Waterpump went on the 1.2 16v engine (been leaking for ages!) pissed coolant everywhere, waterpump bearing is completely screwed. engine overheated, was running very low on oil at the time due to the...
no it doesnt it takes him 17 seconds
did i say my mates corsa was faster than a 172, no i was just telling the guy who thinks his 172 is awesome because it does 60 in 2nd that, 60 in 2nd is nothing special
if you want power, convert it, if you dont want to convert it dont touch the 1.2 engine wise, apart from noise to make it more fun etc.
if your so set on modding the engine, just optimise intake & outlet (catback with decat & panel filter)
thats the yozza cup, hes talking about his black 1.2 16v dynamique before he put the 2.0 16v lump in it, and yep thats true was passing 172's round a track.
every 1.2 sunroof creaks, not a problem, and cant be fixed for good, only temp fixes!
make sure it has service history at that millage (not that its high, just high if its not been serviced properly!)
make sure the cambelt AND waterpump has been done, if waterpump hasnt been done it will...
as rory said, dont come off the throttle and it wont kick out lol!
nothing like your 172, were you expecting it to be faster than it?
60 in 2nd cant be that bad? yes it can, my mates 3 cylinder 1.0l corsa does that lol
i get 200-250 to £40 of petrol.
your cars probably worth £2,000 if your lucky, if its not a catd
i payed £1700 for mine in 2005 (2002 Clio 1.2 16v 115k miles with full service history, 1 owner)
u sure their genuine at that price?
standard shocks are fine on slightly stiffer springs that dont make the car sit much lower (like eibachs), there not so good on lowering springs such as the apex 40mm ones tho.
a decent socket set (halfords are pretty good, dont let the name put you off!)
dont forget a set of TORX drivers, although they are more for doing interior work
mine has a habit of doing this, i stick my hand down the back of the engine where the ECU loom is and give it a good wiggle lol always fixes it for a couple of months!
strip it to save weight and sort out the handling, cat back exhaust system to give you a bit of noise to make it more fun.
ive been there done that with the 16v engine and can tell you its not worth it at all touching the engine.
depends how much you want to spend but id go for the...
this month matey
1600 16v
stainless tubular manifold, decat, 2.0 throttle body, headwork, manifold work, then eventually cams and lightned and balanced.
somethin a bit different from 2.0 conversion.
