i really don't get what they do to cause the breakages, I have a set of 182 xenon's in the shed I've had years, they get chucked about, they've sat under a pile of suspension parts that I've chucked on them, they've been transferred from shed to shed and car to car over the time.
still fine...
nice work and good little write up so far! trackdays always lead to trials and tribulations but the first completely clear and mechanical gremlin free one I ever had still feels so good even now! lol!
as above, injectors for sure, they're very common for going on these engines
the o2 sensor faults are probably a result of the bad exhaust from the crapped out injectors so change them first imo
know where you are coming from, I kind of want to track mine too as I've only ever used my proper track car so sort of want to have a play in a more standard vehicle on track.
In all honesty the 182 drives better, it's definitely keener (it is mapped, phase 1 is stock) and it's a nicer place to be daily with the toys (cruise/climate etc).
But the phase 1 is just so much cooler, I feel more excited about driving it. Reminds me much more of the mk1 which I prefer again...
Scarab is such a wonderful colour and then they put it on those wheels with that interior....I love phase 1 but the exclusive is such a lame duck. I feel like all phase 1's should appreciate if kept standard but I wouldn't pay for an exclusive what I'd want for my odyssey.... Wierd
it'll probably be fine, but sideways load on them will be the weakest point on if it shifts, even a little, repeatedly this will lead to stress and metal fatigue surprisingly quickly
nice result to get it sorted, as you say would of been shame to scrap it
specifically what area of the ignition wiring was corroded and as such causing the issue? be useful to know exactly for other fault finding in the future on forum searches
