Sunday afternoon is most likely for me in-between the rounds of BTCC at Croft.
The server name will be Rossendale Racers and the password Clio2004 - if you fancied joining?
Make sure you search for all servers or else it will likely miss it. It did that to a mate of mine before he cleared out...
So, with regards to setting up a server for this - I had a random Xeon box lying about, doing nothing.
Formatted with Windows 10 Pro and loaded it with the Assetto Corsa Competizione server software - I've managed to get it working fine and without paying a penny for the service.
Happy to...
It's a bizarre addiction that most people can relate to. I very rarely play anything on Epic for the main reason that I detest their front end app - it's like the designer for the ex-Origin app gave himself a labotomy with a chainsaw and then felt compelled to write the Epic Games one.
I have...
Fanatec on the offers again....
Ended up ordering the load-cell pedal today. Looking forward to having some additional resistance on the brake pedal now. :)
I should have said actually - I've taken the mechanism off a few times in the past for pump issues and the like. Like you say, it's not that difficult a job but it's more the respraying of the linkages and their parts. I assume that I'd need to key or prep them with them being very smooth?
Has anyone removed their wiper linkage and revamped it - including repainting it?
After 18 years, mine's looking decidedly sun-bleached grey and with a little dribble of rust from under the central linkage.
Ideally, I'd refurb it to all black - but is it a ballache does anyone know?
Thanks,
D.
Just for reference if anyone was interested - a couple of NVMe M.2 benchmark comparisons.
The first two drives are 1TB Gen3 and the last is a 2TB Gen4 that I picked up in last week's Amazon sale.

I've only recently come to terms with the fact that VR (and getting the most out of it) requires a lot of manual intervention.
I naively thought that for 90% of it - it would simply be plug & go, but that's clearly not the case. As it stands, I can see no real discernable difference at all...
My windscreen is awful as it's the OEM piece of glass - many hairline scratches and tiny chips from road debris. But I'm loathe to swap it out due to this very reason.
The windscreen on my previous car had been replaced at some point and was lovely and clear to look out from. But water was...
I was going to say this.
Mine was making a racket over small undulations on the road surface, coming from the offside front ARB bush. Got that sorted once we knew what it was and it's been fine ever since.
Probably trying to cover some of the cost of the respray. Liquid Yellow (done properly) is one hell of a job to get right.
That said, nothing major on it's history that would sound too worrying? But for me, it's not a genuine LY from the get-go and for that alone (and the price!) I'd probably...
I'd like to see what drivers like Ash Sutton would think of being behind the wheel of a Super Tourer.
20+ years of tech difference is massive in motorsport, but I wonder if the older car(s) would feel more 'analogue' to a capable driver?
I assume that they will have checked the fuses? Hopefully it may have jus blown one of those?
Whereabouts are you located? There maybe a specialist nearby that could shed some light on what's gone on?
Must admit - I know jack s**t about football, but have liked FM 2023 Touch on the iPad.
I tried the free trial of FM 2023 on the PC through Steam and it appeared like I was controlling the Hadron Collider whilst learning Japanese and attempting to bungee jump at the same time. Way too much for me!
Apart from the p**n (!) I can't think of anything else that suits VR better than racing games, when setup correctly.
The glance to the apex, the check to your side that you're far enough ahead of the car coming alongside you. The fact that you actually use your wing mirrors properly rather than...
No one dumped money onto a Simucube 2 Ultimate yet, then? ;)

Not quite sure why anyone would require up to 32Nm of torque in a racing sim though?
Tried to follow the ideal racing line on Kyalami and it's interesting to see how on two corners, it's a bit alien to how I would have approached them.
It clearly works - but feel like I'm fighting the car more to get it to stick to those lines.
In the real world, I wonder if stepping off the...
