my ph1 spins up in 3rd on T1R's up hill ..to be fair to the OP they are pretty crap - better on track suprisingly! I think your best bet would be AD08s, no personal experience of them yet, but as a fast road / track alternative if you can't be arsed swapping wheels they seem like the ideal...
OE pads are fine for a road car..
Pagid blues are ££ but really rate them if you ever fancy hopping on track again and cba to change.. great pads.
DO NOT buy Mintx 1444s they are plain s**t.. you can cook them on the road let alone on track days!! :/

Think it's partially because it's a lot easier to sell a car that's had a complete overhaul so you then become more tempted in order to try something new..

full geometry setup on practically any coilover will make a massive difference. Get that done first, along with those dreadful tyres.. might find that's all you need

It's a comfortable mile eater with a nice engine. They're not neck rippingly fast, but if you look at what you could spec up from the factory when new they're seriously cool. I wouldn't say bland.. I can think of a lot more blander cars for the...
200 with a better power band would be spot on.. it's not so much the delivery though as it is the weight if you ask me...
The build quality is shockingly better than then Mk2s though

As above they are a FRANCHISE so you will get good ones and bad ones. I had a powerflow years ago and it was spot on. Others haven't been so lucky.

as above, he's had my leaky replacement for yonks, not my car ;)! It's taken me a year to get it painted and ready to him lol.
