I did my first 1/4 miling on Monday and was wondering what technique people use to get a good 60ft time? I was usually sitting at 2.5/3k close to the biting point and letting the clutch out slow until I got moving then nailing it. My times were 60fts werent too bad, usually around high 2.3s with...
Ive got Hillpower chip, viper, exhaust with de-cat and stripped interior.I got 14.97@ 91mph on my first ever go so I reckon you should get into 14s no problem. Depending on how well you can launch you might get closer to 14.5/6 IMO.
Valvers with the 2.0 are usually faster than Williams for some reason so if you remove back seats/ spare you should be able to beat 14.90. Was my first go at the quarter miling as well so theres room for improvement.
LOL see the other thread.

Andy Nichols Turbo Maestro

I think you might be right there Daz but I guess every simple job on a Cup doesnt turn into a marathon like my williams because of corroded/seized parts and just generally being very high maitenance. Theres also the dreaded rust on the bodywork too, sorting that seems like a losing battle...
Ive been tempted by the 03 172 Cups that are available at dealers for around 10k at the moment. My williams costs a fair whack to run and sometimes think Id be better off with a new car. But I have reservations about getting a loan and being in debt again...I like having money in the bank. Does...
I cant believe you would sell the clio so soon after getting it and spending loads on getting it how you want!? I dont think I could go to a to a slower car after the williams.
Pretending your car is something it isnt is indeed for chumps imo. Only time I would approve is doing a Q car job like CB1As clio, proper street sleeper.

Oh and i have no problem doing 100 on the motorway it only feels like Im punishing the car when it gets close to the limiter in 5th at 140+. All conducted on my private runway obviously. hehe
100+ miles on the motorway, not 100+mph on the motorway! Long journeys in my car are not the most comfortable mostly due to the lack of interior, bucket seats, filter/de-cat/exhaust and hard suspension which makes for a less than serene drive at a steady 80-90mph.
Ive just taken out a policy with Brentacre insurance on my modified williams, was 180 cheaper than my renewal and I can do any interior/exterior/ mods and engine mods which increase the power by 10% or less without charge.:) Very helpfull too know their stuff, so no explaining what an induction...
Im running 195/50 Toyos as well and although I have only driven the car on no name 185/55s that were on the car when I bought it before the 195s Im happy with them so far. Have only had problems over the bumpiest of roads on 195s compared to the 185s. I mainly drive A roads and fast B-roads so...
I love the rawness of my williams...... except when Im doing 100+ miles on the motorway. Which doesnt happen often thankfully Im more often on fast B roads/ twisty A roads where the willy is in its element.
