That is the plan. Getting it MOT'd will be fun!
I won't be doing the full series, will just pick Brands or another local round to just see what it is like and attempt to encourage a bit of sponsorship.
That is a ridiculous comparison though. You're also basing it purely on BHP. The difference in between a 1.6 and 172 in the second hand market is minimal. Lets remember how much more the Sport model has over the 1.6...
If you base the comparison on BHP alone, you will get used to the increase...
BTCC cars are penneth, very good value if you can support them. Sold 2 Lagunas last year, an Eastern European came and just took them, cash money lol.
I don't really see the point in buying that F1 car, you can buy cheaper display ones and that will take a lot of work to get going... for a race...
It is officially called the JCW GP Kit. Over the normal JCW, it had 8bhp, garish body parts and was 40kg lighter (no rear seats). Items like the previously optional LSD and optional JCW brakes were standard. They made 2000.
Remember this is the older 'new' Mini, not the latest Mini Cooper S JCW...
I have to agree with Sh33n there, Mini only use JCW, there isn't a 'Works' trim level. It would be a trademark infringement for starters. I know they call it the 'Cooper S Works' but that is still the JCW.
The only confusing thing i am aware of is that there is an aerodynamics package which...
I was going to say it looks like a total joke with all that airfix kit on the front, but in Chris's photoshop it actually looks very nice. Make sure you show your mate it!
Keep seeing a Mk1 172 when i walk into work, driving past the station? Think it has had the same owner for a while.
Also regularly see a silver Mk2 172 with carbon bonnet and resprayed wheels. Have a feeling the owner works at the local Renault dealer as i see parked up opposite.
Anyone?
Lol, cheers.
I think just a handful came with no options. I know a guy who used one of them for a track day hire firm but no one wanted to drive it over their Ferrari 360 - despite it being quicker - so he got rid for penneth.
My initial budget was £30k. That will get you an average optioned one with 30k miles. Being such a good car at a dealer with BMW warranty, 12 months tax etc. etc. it was up for more than that, basically.
I believe stuff like the stereo were no cost options! It certainly does go against the grain of the car, but then why would you get a 4 seater car as a dedicated track day car?
The CSL was not a homoglation special, it was to test the ceiling of how much were willing to pay for an M3. It...
