£17k isn't that much really, don't get why people whine so much. Why do people spend just as much on a base model 3 Series BMW? Because they want to!
The Clio 182 is an average car, yeah it goes well, handles nice, but as an overall car it's a joke. Get a reality check.
Only a mug would pay...
Well, depends what you like and what you can afford. I think fmp's time is wasted on Clio owners tbh. I can understand owning a 182 would make him want to use it as an excuse to have a nice exhaust, but i'm sure he (and BTB) would sell far more if he targeted, say, new Golf GTI owners. The cars...
Thanks for the info. It appears they prepare some FFSA GT cars which take part in some British GT races. A bit strange considering the amount of 'official' GT3 RS Porsches that compete.
I doubt they will complain but if say, your wheel bearings went, they could blame the wheels and not cover it. They won't void the whole car. It's not like they could blame your wheels if your engine blew up!
Personally i think those wheels are common and a bit cheap looking now. Loads of fakes...
If it it just the outside lip, you can find a mobile wheel refurbishment company in the Yellow Pages. Got my Mini's wheels done at work and the job was excellent.
That's the problem with these modern cars, you brush past them and they look like they've been hit by a freight train!
Hope you get it sorted, i guess if you spend time scouring scrappies and can get the painting done cheap, you could really get the parts for a few hundred.
It's very hard to get insured until you are 21. I would probably get a Pug 106 GTI for now and hold on. I have heard insurance premiums will be rising at a 16% average and 40% for young male drivers.
I am 21 with 4 years NCB and am paying about £800 i think.
The tints looked stupid anyway, you're not a gangsta or a footballer presumably?
I do like those wheels actually. If you had normal lights and a Cup splitter it would be really nice.
The main thing is to check if it's an import. Start haggling if you find it out. It's not a big deal but you won't have an OE alarm or locking wheel nuts. You should get a CD Disc Changer though!
Otherwise i'd ask about the known problems, suspension mount knocking, exhaust rattle etc. If they...
Well, they should do. I'd sooner ask them how much labour and parts would cost and if they would be willing to give you a cash settlement instead. Then get an aftermarket system which will stop any more hassle.
Saw you in Bexley Village, it actually looked green at that time of the morning but i don't know any other colour which changes like that so figured it must be petrol blue!
I remember reading somewhere one of the major insurers has launched a scheme where you can do short term insurance, for 30 days or whatever. Might be worth ringing around.
Depends how you use your car, but for track use any strengthening is good news. If you have standard (i.e. soft) suspension, you probably won't feel a difference.
As you say though Jon, clearance could be an issue!
It would be nice to hear about the adjustable ARB, i haven't found any...
