    CS_dave 172 20v clio turbo

Remember seeing this a while back, tis a beast! Did it used to have different wheels on it or am I imagining things? The VAG content is the engine!

    Headlight Problems

The igniter and ballast come as a package if buying new from Renault. I don't think it was far off £250 last I heard. That's another thing it could be actually, the igniter. If the bulb isn't at fault when you swap them it's probably worth swapping the igniters over as well.

    Headlight Problems

Swap the bulbs to the opposite sides. If the problem moves to the other side, it's the bulb that's at fault. If not, it's most likely the ballast.

    6 Speed Gear Box/Longer 5th to 182

I wouldn't say it was enough to make a noticeable difference. It would only bring the engine speed down from approx 3300rpm@70mph to 3100rpm (assuming 205/45r16 tyres). Although on saying that swapping in the 5th gear from a dci box (JC5-128 I think?) would make less of a difference still. The...

    dogbone mount fitting question

Am I right in saying that the vertical bolt in the above picture goes into the gearbox? If so, it's possible that your gearbox has been replaced in the past with one from a ph1, hence the use of a non-twisted mount.

I love this M3. So much fun for a bit of drifting. And then there's this... Not sure if Hennessey Venom GT or plane... Also, zero f***s given by the pedestrians here

    sburrell's ph1 172 track project (maybe)

Not much to update really. I'm just bored as f**k sitting in the house while its rained constantly for the past two days :( I did manage to sort out my cold air feeds for the induction kit the other day though, so they now look like this Been seeing posts on here of people buying steering...

    Air induction conversion

Would recommend a ph1 airbox as well if you want to go standard. There's one in the for sale section just now http://www.cliosport.net/threads/ph1-airbox-pipercross-filter.762916/ Edit: that's actually quite an old advert, there's this one too though

    Slight temperature issue

I'd say it's down to the cold weather. Mines is doing similar just now and I just had the waterpump and thermostat changed about 4 weeks ago.

    OnePlus One, anyone got one?

Never noticed the posts in here lol! Yeah, phone must've landed badly I guess 😧 I never even noticed it after it happened as well, just picked it up had a quick look over it and sat it in the car (should've done that in the first place!). Was only later on that I noticed it had happened...

The Power PC Thread [f*ck off consoles]

Got my network card installed and ran a couple of speed tests. This was what I got with my old card connected to my 2.4Ghz band: and then my new dual band one connected to the 5Ghz band: Considering I'm on 50mb internet, I'm pretty happy with that, and will be sticking with wireless for now...

The Power PC Thread [f*ck off consoles]

Yeah, I know wired will always be better, but I'm not really having any problems with wireless just now, apart from using a 7 year old network card (genuinely, lol) hence the slight upgrade :tongueout: What kind of latency do you get with wired? My ping is usually around 15-30ms, which I've...

The Power PC Thread [f*ck off consoles]

Hmm worth considering then. I'll see how I get on with the wireless card when it arrives tomorrow anyway. My wireless speeds are pretty good. Just needed a dual band wireless card to make the most of them.

The Power PC Thread [f*ck off consoles]

Are they any good? I've just realised I'll be able to fit everything in anyway, the network card is small enough that it'll fit in my available PCI-e slot without blocking the fan for the graphics card, while my sound card will go into the other PCI-e x16 slot I have. Never realised you could...

    OnePlus One, anyone got one?

Just cracked the screen on mine 😢 fell out my pocket onto the ground while I was lying down half under the car. Can't have fallen more than 4 or 5 inches either! Luckily it's on the buttons at the bottom and not the main screen, but it looks like the glass is a bit s**t if it cracks that easy!

The Power PC Thread [f*ck off consoles]

Too difficult to run a cabled connection from where my router is to my pc (complete opposite ends of the house) so I use wifi instead. Probably should've mentioned it was a wireless card lol.
  21. sburrell93

The Power PC Thread [f*ck off consoles]

The way the motherboard is laid out my GPU blocks one of the PCIe slots (there's two in total). I've got a sound card in one slot, and my current network card (proper old shed of a thing) in a standard PCI slot. Bought a new network card, but it's PCIe and now I have nowhere to fit it since the...

    Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

Unless I'm missing something, is this not silly cheap for car masking tape? Granted, its 50mm wide stuff, but still. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002OHN50Y/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_MV9Nub0RK0D7H

The Power PC Thread [f*ck off consoles]

Bit of a long post here...how difficult a job is it to change a motherboard and continue using the same CPU? I've built up pc's before but always used motherboard bundles with the CPU on it. Basically looking to start upgrading my pc a bit in the future. Happy with it just now, but there's a...

The Fatty's KTEC alternative induction setup that works just as well!

I want to get the ph1 on a rolling road at some point. If I ever actually get round to it (got more important things that need done on it just now) I'll get this kit tested against my standard airbox and panel filter.

    dmallett's PH1 Flame-shed.

Love the induction setup on this. Does it offer any improvement doing it that way with there being less bends in it?

Anyone without xenons tried LED headlight bulbs?

Good point that. Also with cheap HID kits, it's usually the ballast that goes wrong if anything. If the hassle in the passat is getting in to change the bulbs, you could always place the ballasts in an easier to access area? (Although I've never seen under the bonnet of a passat, so I could be...

Anyone without xenons tried LED headlight bulbs?

Do I hear @McGherkin coming? I wouldn't bother with LED's. They just can't throw the light far enough to be effective. Even the brightest ones only light up everything close to the car. Osram Nightbreakers or Philips Xtreme vision bulbs would be my choice if you're looking for more light...
