Did you have Klax as well? I thought Xybots was really good on it too. :) D.

Moz - did the same on my Amiga m8, similar price too, iirc. But it was a whole lot easier to fit. Flip the Amiga over, unclip the centre 'hatch' and clip the memory board in. Worked a treat. Quite a few games got 'boosted' by the 1MB onboard. F-18 Interceptor played the intro music and ones like...

Heavy tints on the rears and back window as well, iirc? D.

    Boll*cks!

Nice. I don't think they age much at all those. Someone did get a bargain, like you said. D.

It should be - but it wasn't that bad - honest! :) D.

So true! You'll get pushed to the back of the list if you start throwing your weight around. D.

    5-door, black 182 in Bury....

A few days ago now. A good effort, from what I saw of it. Complete with twin pipes, boot badging and RS alloys. Something at first glance didn't look right and it was then I noticed the rear doors. :) Anyone off here? D.

Hehehe! Does chipped flamer look as bad as chipped black gold, then??? :) Just a pisser about your rim - that would be the bit that would grate on me the most. Certainly worth checking that she's still running straight and true once you get her back. D.

I'd look at that if it was mine. Go mental on the outside and let the fuc-mop know how I feel. Then on the inside be doing backflips knowing that the front bumper would be getting a FOC respray and cover Stone-Chip Central. :) It's not right, but accidents do happen. It could be worse - you...

    Laptop Vs Computer (Poll)

Desktop, hands down. Laptops are the future, but they just annoy me. Too fragile, too heavy when they are some use, too light when they have sod-all battery life. And they are stupid money compared to their desktop counterparts. Increasingly getting like the next 'must-haves' by the same...

    Broken External HDD?

Brand, have you tried taking the drive out of the enclosure and connecting it directly to a desktop mobo with a converter? It does sound knackered, but hopefully you'll get everything off it that you need. When the MD here had the hard drive in his IMac eat itself, we went to Kroll Ontrack to...

My first ever game on the C-64 and I loved it to bits! I rememeber the first time I got to the very end and blew up that fortress/turret thing. Amazing gameplay for such a limited technology in terms of power, memory and storage. Yet today, you can get patches for the likes of Medal of Honour...

^^^^ - good call Lee. I was waiting for your input! Bogies inbound over San Fransisco?! A great game - though landing back on the carrier was bloody hard. The one flight game that made my jaw drop back in the Amiga days was the original Falcon by Spectrum Holobyte. Truly amazing - and...

Good point. I think back to the basic graphics, the nigh-on lack of any decent sound, the ice-age-long loading times and realise that we had no better back then. That was all we had. Kids today would look at our favourites of two decades+ ago and simply laugh. Great times (in a nostalgic...

That's what always get me. The memory in our Atari was 128 bytes according to Wikipedia. Convert the number of bytes that I have in my PC at home, and that's 4,294,967,296 bytes. Same with the CPU. The Atari ran at 1.19Mhz and the CPU on my PC is 3,200Mhz per core - straight out of the box...

MarkCup does. He was going to go for the Dragon 64, but opted for the ORIC instead. ;) ^^^^ - I think that one takes the medal on this thread. Looks like some form of manky vending machine hybrid. Never heard of that one! D.

The land-fill one? Yep, I heard about that - but not until years later. I actually had E.T on the Atari and didn't think it was that bad. :o Total crap if you looked at it now, mind. D.

    Techies Rucksacks

^^^ that b*****d always catches me out. I've never sorted out a shorter cable, so we've got one about 10m in length. Hardly use it, so leave it out mainly....... then regret it when I do need it. ;) D.

    Techies Rucksacks

In mine, it's a constant rota of power supply for the laptop, ADSL modem, analogue phone (testing fax lines, etc), USB memory sticks, a few CAT5 leads, a couple of scraps of paper with far too valuable (and important!) info on it. Nothing flash - just a basic Targus black bag/rucksack thing...

:) - I remember asking my dad to drop me off at my m8's house on the night he got his BBC Micro. He phoned saying that he had some 'cool' games on it like Hunchback, Frak! and Granny's Garden - rofl! But I got the usual parent-to-kid comment....... 'You can't, its too late and you've got...

I 'think' I remember that. We did have something before the Atari and I remember the name 'Grandstand' and the games being inbuilt into it. Probably the same bit of kit, then? D.

Snap - that's the one we had. I'm pretty sure its still in my parent's attic - shoved in a corner somewhere. I'll have to dig that out and retry it - for old times sake. ;) D.

I did want one of those, but ended up getting a C-64 instead. I don't think I've ever actually seen one! D.
