I didn't see the crash, but we did go down to Knickerbrook at one point. Surely to god those old Lolas weren't under the noise regs? I think they must be the loudest cars I've ever heard at Oulton. Maybe they get special permission for one weekend or something?
Loved the old rally cars on the...
Those Imps were rapid little feckers. Quite funny seeing them in amongst a field of other cars including Lotus Cortinas and Mustangs!
Was your m8's XR2 a white one with a centre-exit exhaust? Spotted that one earlier and it looked well smart.

I'd pretty much stick with NTFS all the way, these days m8. As a simple rule of thumb, I used to consider FAT32 back in the days when drives were commonly around 10GB in size. NTFS handles larger capacities much better.
One thing that might be worth mentioning is that a drive setup in FAT32...
Good points Mike. Must admit, I've had fewer calls off my dad with issues on his PC, now that he has Vista - lol.
It does seem more 'descriptive' to new comers on a PC. And I guess that can only be a good thing.

I use Putty every now and then too - nice and small. :)
As for Mike's original post, the things that annoy me with Vista are where they just seem to but extra layers of dialogue/menu options to get to the same point as you did in XP? Why? When there is no benefit in doing so?

Lee - that looks like an old FTL Dungeon Master clone? The ones on the PC were a side-view top-down view, pretty much on a hexadecimal turn-based strategy game.
HOMM2 was ok, but HOMM3 was much better. Then they tried to go all 3D on HOMM4 and it was turd. :)

Lol - not far off. Just thought I'd stick Heroes of Might & Magic III back on (best of the bunch by a country mile).
Just checked the back of the case and it says copyright 2000. I didn't think it was that old!

Just thought a few people on here maybe interested in the results. At best, I use 3DMark as a guide-line only - there are far too many variables of system builds to put in a true performance figure. It is also heavily CPU biased, so if you have a decent CPU (re: Intel) then your figures should...
I'm actually finding the prices getting more reasonable. Still stupidly high, but within a region where I don't cringe everytime I put some in.
My 182 has been pure Tesco 99RON fed for months now and I chucked another £30 in only today. At £1.14.9p, I don't think that is too bad, tbh.
In...
^^^^ - looks the tits, that. :approve:
Only ever been a passenger once in a 1.7 version. I had my Punto GT at the time and the Puma simply embarrassed my car in the way it handled. Sounded like the engine loved to be thrashed and seemed to tick a lot of boxes in what made a very good drivers...
I'm normally quite against snobbery and one-up-manship - but there are times for exceptions.
This being one of them. Unless of course, he's going for the Clio 4x4 look, in which case I can see where he's coming from.
Still looks rank though.

Balls - now I am confused. Is there the potential for the media to have any impact on the recording quality and stock volume?
I can chuck the original CD and happily have it on 10 or 11 on the 182's volume setting. But with the copied CD, it has to be 15 or 16 for a similar level and sounds...
Right chaps. Bit of an unknown area this for me, but I'm after getting like-for-like rips of audio tracks for me to make my own CDs.
I've got a raft of original CDs, but like most people, just want the odd track off the album, here and there.
What's the best thing to use? Even Windows Media...
I've tried that on the ones we have at work m8, but its still no show. The driver gets installed fine - no errors or anything, but there is just nothing at all through coming through the speakers. Try it with SP2 alone and all is well.
I'm up for giving it another try though. We've got another...
Could be that the output DVI is defaulting to a resolution far beyond that that the Samsung monitor can support? I recently bought an ATi 4870 card and that does exactly the same on my Iiyama 19" TFT running Vista. When I run it with XP however, it's fine.
Have you got an old CRT monitor...
Haven't really noticed anything good or bad about having SP3 installed. The only issue I've come across (usually on laptops) is with the Microsoft UAA sound support. If the chipset requires this to be installed - it works fine on SP2, but gets killed on SP3.
That was a few weeks ago now, so...
Exactly. I think for a good majority of businesses that have the likes of XP desktop/laptops, using Office (XP and beyond) and communicating with 2003 Servers - there is absolutely no reason to move forward with Vista.
The same with Office 2007 to a certain extent. There are only so many ways...
