ok lol,question,i know its good to have all cylinders at the same compression,but i was under the impression that compression tends to drop as an engine wears? so i would have thought mine would have been lower than it is if that is the case?
right tried a coil pack off my mates 172 and still the same,i cant see it being a knock sensor,as surely it cant make it run like its on 3?
im trying a set of plugs in it,shortly,so im keeping my fingers crossed its that,does anyone have any other ideas???
i dont really worry that much,im used to cars with higher (my highest was 197k on a beemer) but i meant that the compressions are all very equal over the cylinders and still showing i high reading so im happy with that

as most people,i worry about high mileage,so had the chance to check the compression on my 172 today,and all cylinders came back at over 160 psiwhich i thought was pretty good for 113,000 miles so no more real worries for me lol

never tested compression,runs like new really,desnt use a drop of oil or water,and gets used like 172s should,but i warm up correctly and keep her serviced more than needed really,goes like stink,revs clean to 7200,and doesnt feel any diferent that my mates 172 on 65k
so im quite pleased...
just put fuel in,then left for 3 days,def put super in her
got a 25k garage comp to plug in monday night lol hopefully that will tell me,im laying money on either cat has died,or one of my 2 lambda probes?

iv pulled each lead off the coil and all are soarking so its more of a really bad missfire but i can hardly move on its own steam
Iv not driven my 172 in 4 days,come to drive her 2nite,got 2 mins into my drive home,when it dropped a cylinder and the orange engine warning light started flashing,seems to idle ok but exhaust is VERY boomy,then feels like on 3 cylinders when driving,any ideas guys??
