Compression check - high mileage

Car  53 Clio's & counting
as most people,i worry about high mileage,so had the chance to check the compression on my 172 today, and all cylinders came back at over 160 psiwhich i thought was pretty good for 113,000 miles so no more real worries for me lol

lol you worry about mileage but have a car with 113k on the clock...

Doesnt mean anything to mean 160psi so cant comment ( I realise its lost of pressure... but relatively..)

i dont really worry that much,im used to cars with higher (my highest was 197k on a beemer) but i meant that the compressions are all very equal over the cylinders and still showing i high reading so im happy with that

(oh the reason y i have this car is i bought it bk at the beggining of the year with 98k for 2k)

Should be about 165 psi new so that fine. There no real issues these days with it, if you loose compression you usually know about it.

yeah true matey, its nice to know after 113k its still good,my 1st valver on 125k only had 110 psi lol

i'm actually talking s**t LOL a compression test has nothing to do with a comp ratio, i'll shut up now oops!

ok lol, question,i know its good to have all cylinders at the same compression, but i was under the impression that compression tends to drop as an engine wears? so i would have thought mine would have been lower than it is if that is the case?

lol i remeber when my gti died

1st 170 , 2nd 66, 3rd 71, 4th 171

guess where the gasket went LOL
