There's a few things it could be and wouldn't of suggested uch apart from the hazards as they can do odd things when they are on the way out.
I'd say to check loom around top of gearbox as well.
don't know why but when i was getting one cleared by chris at efi he said that you can run a 182 ecu on a 172 but not the other way round, can't remember why though?
what end of shaft does it sound like it's coming from? imagine you should be able to find what it is easy enough, just no idea from the video where it's coming from.
Make sure battery is fully charged, unlock car, turn ignition on , leave for 30 seconds or so,ignition off and lock the car. Try it again, that generally sorts it.
If not can be a fun one to sort out.
Also check battery voltage standing and on cranking.
Pull the radishes* out and get it plugged in with clip and see what faults it brings up and take it from there.
If you want to do it the lazy way pop cover off the dash and stick a bit of black tape over the light as it doesn't have to work for an mot. If it doesn't work it's pass and advise...
That's just grease, if it's the side that's stick g wouldn't worry about it much. Chances are the pads are stuck in the carrier, if they are just give them a clean and file a bit of the ends so they can move in the carrier a bit.
If not check caliper is moving on sliders, if that's OK check...
