throttle body or icv, give body a good clean and recentralise the butterfly,make sure it does't stick.
also if you swap the icv for the costof a new one not really worth using a used one.
where is the play? in the shifter set up itself or actually in the box?
when you go for 1st lift the collar as though you're going for reverse but don't move the shifter over enough to get reverse and see if you get 1st easier that way. i've have a few where the white bush is shot and they are...
yup, wife's 172 has done about 230,000 miles. belts are well overdue on mileage but meh i don't care:smile:
only had it's first clutch changed at around 170,000 miles and that was because the thrust bearing fell apart!!
