Yup, tucked behind and slightly above the alternator.

will be easy to see if it's the pump that's leaked, my money is on heatshield mounting bracket has rubbed through one of the lines on the rack. if that's the case and the pump has been ran dry for more than a couple of minutes then it will be knackered as well.

could possibly be wiring issue then if it starts once you've taken it off and back on. how long will it crank for when it won't start?

generally a crank sensor won't start when it's got hot, half hour or so later and it will start.

shouldn't have issue with it then, check how the plug has been fitted, seen a few that have been botched to say the least.

make sure you do it with the tank pretty much empty.
