I was tempted by that. Really nice car, and a great price.
Then I thought insurance would be an issue and if it breaks I'm useless so couldn't fix it myself.
Do you need somebody to define accident for you?
The lads made a mistake. Yes if he was following the always make sure you can stop in the distance you can see to be clear rule he wouldn't have crashed, but he did, accidents happen.
To the OP: Sorry to hear about the bump mate, been there...
Have you pressed the switch the right way? It needs to be green. I had it set to orange (speed limiter) and thought it was broken when I first got mine.
Result.
Renault boxes are pretty poor. My 172 wouldn't go in 1st unless completely stopped and had a crunch 3rd to 4th. 182 seems spot on so far, fingers crossed.
Hopefully yours should be good for another 56k now, says a lot for buying from a dealer though doesn't it. I got my 182 from Evans...
I like them. Supposed to be a good drive too.
Can you really tell the engine is turbo'd? I thought these low boost pressure high compression engines weren't supposed to feel much different to n/a. All hearsay though.
Monaco is such a lovely colour. I like what you've done with it.
3/4 Front Plate and Skoda splitter are next on my list. It freshens up the front end so much.
My 182 drives miles better than my 172 did but I think that's down to it being newer, and seemingly better looked after by its previous owners.
The three ph1's I've driven have been shagged to be honest. Mine was the best of the bunch but still was a little tired. The NWP cambelt change did it...
I put the opening bid in on that as it had no reserve and I thought I'd take the 0.001% chance of winning it at £99. I'd love a Williams but would want it just for summer use etc.
182's have cruise control which is amazing. I love my 182 because its as good as my ph1 172 was when out for a spirited drive and then when I have a long drive to do I can just whack it on cruise control, set the climate control and just relax.
I went for an exhaust first on both my 172 and 182.
Other peoples opinions will differ, however I'd say most will agree that an aftermarket system gives the car the bit more noise it needs to make it a little more special for a hot hatch. I think hot hatches need to be reasonably loud, its a...
Its exhaust related, mine didn't do it on the way to having my exhaust fitted and it did on the way back. I'm going to use some silicone based exhaust sealant and get it lined up straight and hopefully it will go.
If not then back to the drawing board. Actually I'd just get my cat and centre...
It looks really good but I don't see the point in stripping a 182, they're still worth money especially a low miler like yours.
If your going to get an RS Clio an butcher it surely a ph1 172 is a better option. All IMO of course.
My 182 makes exactly the same noise since I had my scorpion exhaust fitted. I think its an exhaust blow. Mine is definitely blowing. Its driving my up the wall. It sounds just like turbo whistle, it even sounds like a turbo spooling up.
If anybody solves the problem please PM me. I'll do the...
Out of the 172's the ph1 is by far more special.
It has the best front end too by far. I'd love to combine the 182 rear end with the ph1 front end. The ph2 front end is too soft and pretty for a hot hatch really, the ph1 is much more aggressive. ph1's also come with OZ F1 cups which I think...
I've driven one and really enjoyed it. I was going to get one after my 172 but the MX5 was just a bit more tempting.
Yours looks really tidy, any future plans?
I've not seen a thread on stripping on here for ages. It was fashionable a couple of years ago, not so much now. I see the point for track though, I hate carrying more than one passenger because the car feels so much less responsive.
