how well can ur missus drive mate? coz in all honesty u really have to rev them to get ther best out of them,i find changing early in the rev range makes mine as flat as a pancake lol

iv just put some quantum synta gold 5w 40 fully synth in mine,runs lovely on it and doesnt use a drop even on 102 k :) i chose this oil coz i get it free from work lol

my 172's on 102,207 and (fingers crossed!) is running sweet :) just dont rag it from cold,and keep it regularly serviced and they will last matey

no matter whats wrong the speeds at cirtain rpm will be the same mate thats down to gearing-only a clutch slipping would give that impression

could be either the rear shoes need some adjustment/replacing or the wheel cylinders are leaking,the shoes can stick on slightly too,so id get the wheels and drum faces off,give everything a good clean and adjust the drums and go from there i did that most weeks with my mini's lol

here's my 10 pence worth i am thinking the same thing,i want to move out and im trying to save and weigh up if i can afford to keep the 172 but the more i look at it the more i realise how cheap the 172 is to run,its costing me 38 pounds a month to insure and thats about to go down (25 7yrs no...
