thing is, the 2ltr XE motor is a stonker.....and if i was choosing any motor to put in a car, it would be the vaux, power potential is unbelivable and cost of so reasonable........
Better than almost any 2ltr 16V out there.......with Tbs alone he will be running a min of 190bhp!!!
um, do you really really think Renault will put all that effort into the CUP ECU and not bother with the same one on the 172!!!
I mean, why should the cup have better throttle response than the 172?

possibly......we dont get the cup till later on.....
But we get aircon, which i suppose is the diff in the ECU as it controls every electronic process on the car. So, i THINK it will vary but i will need to have a look.
the std inlet anifold and TB wont allow you much over the 190bhp mark....
cams wil just move the power band up and not increase by anything you can feel, just dont seem to work in the std motor. a set of quad throttlebodie are deffot the best way.......
Viper, its easier to fit than the BMC...
DT, they have the KIT for the TB;s and duel rain, and pump, and ECU etc etc etc. but it wont onclude the inlet manifold....which is the hard bit to find....so far, 1 source of inlet manifold.
true, i would hate to drive around in john boy cars....but respect for making a car that can fly!
My MK1 XR2 might be considered a boy racers car with its orginal decals (aka old ford stylee) and it being an XR2. But since i have built the damn thing and its faster than cossies i have come...

best bet is to give Nick Hill a calla nd find out if the willy will reduce the rpm at which you do speed. i.e. taller gearing......slower accel.
not when its faster than a 172........
