describe the symptoms first please. WHat do you mean by misfiring? are you actually skipping a cylinder?

oh, roughly 185bhp from the traditional chip,filter and exhaust....not much.....but ok...

not a problem....quick roundup though. I have done lots of testing on variables and results are roughly. open cone = crap and loose power seald viper or hill Power typre airbox = 4-10bhp (at small points in the rpm band) Exhaust = almost nowt, but about 2 chip = a massive improvement...

throttle bodies!!!!! i dont usually talk about or reccomend filters and the like, most other people will sort you with the details on that. Alternatively, you could use the search function and look up one of the many arguements on what to do, gains etc etc.... Ta ta mate

my fezzy costs me about 760....which aint too bad considering the output of it.

we leave cars idling all the time in our workshop, we get alot of 172 stalling poblems when they get hot then cool off....never ever ever been a problem. The pipes can take far more than ambient air temps can sustain. Tell him another Renault Dealer said balls......lol

First had the MK1 172 at 18....... The MK2 just sold *boo hoo* but a new one is its replacement......... Yes, Renault is in the family and im under company insurace as i work there. Otherwise, i would be quite a few penny worse off. lol

Nope Nope And Nope The 172 doesnt have individual throttlebodies, it has a single one, a plenam (the box with Renaultsport cast into it and 4 runners to the head. 172bhp from a 2ltr is not stressing it at all. Its a compramise for rd use, fuel comsumption and general all round drvability...
