very very rare for an ecu to fail. if you do want to change it then just go for a second hand set up and swap it over, ecu, uch, key etc.

if you're keeping everything else you need an idler to go in place of the pas pump.

'only a few mm' means it's knackered, must be noisy as hell unless you mean the joint itself not just the shaft on the diff?

you'll probably find they rub on the inside on the fronts on the arch liner.

if you pull the boot up where the arm goes in through the bell housing you can get a scope in and see how it looks.
