red!!! bloody chav!!
the best stuff is the yellow zinc stuff, can't for the life of me remember what it's called though. on rough cast you should be fine to just paint, make sure you bake it on though.
sounds more external than engine internal. especially with the gearbox problems, had a 1.2 the other week with knackered diff, hard to tell from the clip but could of been a similar noise? that mad it all the time except in 4th for some bizarre reason!!
that's a £50 repair, tell him it's going to cost £150 but you'll split it down the middle with him for being so honest, this will leave you with £25 for a takeaway tea:smile:
had a set apart the other week, got to say wasn't impressed by the linkage set up, not sure if it was standard though but if it 'slips' then very easy for it to jam.
place by me does them, you're welcome to send it to me and i can get it done for you, they charge £25.00
and yes lights will be on if pretensioners have fired. unlikely they have fired though if airbags haven't fired. you can see by the length of them.
once crash data is cleared from the ecu all codes should be cleared as well. plug it back in and all you'll have are any current codes. i've had a few cleared and never had a problem.
