na not needed, the engine HAS to have some movement, you'll just break stuff (as you already have) if you try to reduce its movement too much, we snapped all sorts on the cup cars, but they were abused engines etc, the rods fell out the bottom end most of the time LOL

you can't do the job without the renault tools (not the laser ones, they're s**t)

yeah if you put an allen key into the tensioner it shouldn't go past the exhaust cam stud (and the marks line up), if it does you can get a random tap at idle drop me an e-mail and i'll send you the report i've written showing what to look for etc

standard with a powerflex dogbone is all you need, the engine is supposed to move, with those mounts it doesn't - hence broken bits
