oh, ok then, well taking the head off is only a few more bolts, and you could change the gasket, maybe skim the head. Hope the cam gives yo what you want, will be so nice soundin when it comes on cam.....oh, im off to bed, but just ask if you need any info.
the engine ive bought of dazz has everything under the sun on and in it. But i havet driven it yet. But if you get it with the head ported then it will do a fair bit, its the head flow thats most important to power gains, that and inlet valve sizes.
well, if nick uses the pipers, they must be good. But, i have always used cams with the highest lift xompared to other cams with similar duration. And the group n as you say, might be a little wilder than the standard cam.
But, its all up to you, i think essentiall they will do the same thing...
Cheers for that, i kinda already knew what the differences were bu thanks all the same, but stump me if i know what they stood for. DCOE? double choke orange eater?
you any idea?
ok.....wow
KK - no the magnet wil do nothing, and the ecotek will do a little. I had one for a while, but it broke, didnt really notice much. and tuninng it is a pain in the arse, as sometimes it wobbles loose and screwes itself. Cutting the brake servo line is not a problem, as its just a...
hmm, group n in rallying means showroom spec and i think that the standard 16V cams are close to that, if not the same....but mind you, the 16V has got pretty wild cams. And between the two cams, there aint much difference, just a bit more overlap meaning more top end power.
I dont think that...
Alan M?
If its you, i dont rally post on RSC anymore as its getting so boring, i think most people are moving over here. But its a say thing, and i think the constant popups are doin my head in!!!
I talk alot of tech here as almost everybody understands and we can usually have a good talk...
bumpstrips you slide a bit either way, then they just come off. Take the door handles off, but you have to take off the interior door trim. just undo all the screws, then lift up and it will slot out...then unclip the door handles from behind.
you need the special red plastic primer for tha paint to hang onto the flexing plastic. Bumper can stay on, but mask off the rest of the car. Bumpstrip will need to be removed.
1st, clean and sand down with coarse wet&dry. Clean again. Primer, 3 coats & 15 mins inbetween to dry. When done...
yeah, its 20 now......not my baby, more like a friend who i never knew i had. I think, just swapping everything over will be ok. I mean, its the same block, so it should ude the same mounts in the fiesta. APart from that, i looked and there aint much space to run DCOEs. W might need some down...
they are on Konis, but were on standard shocks for a while. But can you get -55 for the new clios? With 17s it might rub, spesh goin that low, but its always easy to fix.
no, not the super sports medel, i thought that model came out before the XR2 and the XR2 was born from it.
i think the engine ewill slip in and we just bolt the ancilaries to it from the fiesta, use the fiesta gearbox. If there the same engine, it should all fit.?
Dunno about the PAS, but...
not nessisarily, only if you go for a can exceeding say 265 deg. but in all, you should gain, but again, you wont notice its full potential until you do some head work, its vital in the quest for power!
All sounds good!
you can get custom con rods from arrows, not to pricy and very very strong!....duh, sorry you already know that....
Anyway, i think the butterfly TBs was a much better choice as in rallying your always adjusting the throttle!
And i am very interested in the engine, if i come...
Nick, your right, all of the mods you stated are basically all you can do to a N/A engine. Its just how extreeme you go with them, you can get masses to top end power and little bottom or vise versa, it all down to the cylinder head mainly! this is really where all the power is gained, the rest...
Actually, its at the crank, even before the flywheel, or rather, without it on. And actually, my bank holiday was sh*t ,im stuck inthe middle of nowhere, in retirement capital!!
jimbo, cheers for the inlet sizes.
inlet=30mm
exhaust=28.5mm
valve seat angles=90degrees both inlet and exhaust.
In theory, the F7P engine, with money not an option and extensive mods to everything, the engine can produce:
max power = 30 x 30 x 3.1416/4 x 8 = 5654.88
max power =...
