IIRC the sensor is rivetted on, so if you were just going to swap to test it, it'd be quicker just to unbolt the TB.

Try drying it out, trust me. I wouldn't be surprised if when 100% dry it works again.

Have you given drying it out a proper go? Assuming you turned it off as soon as it went in the bath, you should be fine leaving it in an airing cupboard/on a radiator for a few days and it'll be alright.

I'm a bit lost for words in here if I'm honest... No matter what, get a spoiler, they're cheap as chips and easy to paint yourself off the car... I added one to my pov spec mk2 ph1 and it made a great difference. Now, there was the nice bit... Personally, I'd sell that bumper, it WILL look...
