The 2" exhaust did have a few scapes on it so this wouldnt have helped. The torque curve 3k- 6kis near identical but staggered 500rpm later but hold on after 6k where it would start to really tail off. Sub 3k didnt really touch as it drives fine and idles great (when warm, as no cold start map)...
Interesting result on the rollers today in the Rallycar.
Origional build mapping showed 228bhp 182lb/ft with 2" diam exhaust, Peak about 7k, went on 3 different occasion and was withing 1/2bhp..
Full 2.5" exhaust fitted and full top end rebuild (everything the same inc. timing) the map needed...
How much was the manifold? Definitely needed and would release a few hp im sure.

still got the pink one just had the engine rebuilt and off to the rr tomorrow. Its current winning the championship at the moment and is a lot faster than the mk2 cup car i have.

I went from 185 to 235bhp in my Mk1 and made the difference of 3or4th in class to 1 in class and top 3-5 O/A nearly every event.!!! The guy who runs my car spoke to you briefly at Epynt last weekend, said the car went well :-) I have a Mk2 cup racer and converting like yourself for the future...
Was due to lowish torque figure good results must be a good spec. I would have thought you would get more from the clio, looking forward to the results.
Clio are great class car and a fraction of the cost of a Mk2, we regularly win the 2ltr class in our Mk1 and have finished in the top 3 O/A quite a few times.

Wasnt planning on taking the engine out and stripping to skim the block. Block looks fine and no distortion (car didnt overheat etc so dont see any reason why it would warp). Was going to skim the head and refit.
Is the Williams and the Megane gasket the same ?
Sorry its a F7R Megane head and Williams bottom end.
12.5cr competition engine, looks like its was a std gasket previously fitted and lasted 2.5year of competition. No sure if to get a Megane or Williams gasket, are they different ?
It blew between 1-2 cylinders and was going between 2-3 aswell.

I have just got a new linkage bar and the old one has a resin ball and the new one has a softer plastic covering. Got a new no12 bush as well and the slop has gone but the gear shift is a bit stiffer (think its down to the softer plastic vs the harder resin. The new plastic covered one also has...
I had a barrel of the oil with the car, in the manual is has a blanked space where it specs the oil. It maybe 80/90 will have the check but its the cheep stuff so it doesnt cost the earth when changing every race.
Its recommended to change the oil every event (Elf 75/90 non LSD oil - very cheep) and thats in the hand book. I guess an oil pump / cooler and most imporantly a filter would extend this.
Just order a JC5 repare kit from renault (bearings and syncs) 200 odd quid. Use and 172/182 reg number.

Yes we were leading the event overall until the final couple of stages, WRC focus won in the end but finished 3rd overall and won the 2 litre class by over 2 minutes.!!!
