Its a laguna one i have and same part number as i took out not the cup one (different part numbers) one is 95 quid the other 52:-
Size is the same, dont know the reason for the difference but i know the expensive one has some sort of ABS magnet??:-...
Needing 2 makes sense so the bearing doesnt move. I have just taken the disc and caliper of the other side and had a look and theres a circlip either side.!!
Although 1 circlip seems larger (sloppier) in the groove on the new bearing (FAG) than the other.?
So is that right then?
Mine came with 2 but one of them was very slack and the other snug as fitted.
Wont the bearing be able to move with just one circlip ?
After confusion on which bearing and sourcing a new bearing and fitting into the hub, just a question. Theres circlip grooves on both sides of the bearing but im sure there was only one circlip on the inside and the other (wheel side) not fitted ? Plus its a magnetic one, guess its ABS related...
Spot on with the size, thats the one after measureing it. Was a bugger to get of (well the remaining inner sleave on the hub after pressing it out - welding torch job)..!!
Just check properly and the Hub ID is 84 not 86mm so looking like Laguna ones, wont know which type until i get the old one out....
Wishbones are looking like Laguna......
That the 2006 manual i have, R-Sport send me the 2001 manual with the different smaller wheel bearing size....
Just measured my spare hubs and they are the 86mm ones..!!!! will look at whats on the car tomorrow, carnt be bothered..!!
Having tried both i have to disagree plus the possibility of selecting the wrong gear in a H patter put me off totally, seen it too many times. I recon 0.5-1 sec a mile....over a 50mile event is the difference of 1st in class or out of the top 3..!
Sequential it is for me (after trying options)...
So youtube is your assement criteria LOL as said spoken like a person who has never competed. Go and do a couple of years competitive motorsport and people may even listen to you.....
Looking at your video i can now confirm sequential is quicker, especially down down shifts. Hands would spend more time on the wheel to so safer.
Maybe you should give prodrive a call and tell them that H patterns the way to go in the new Mini to beat the Citroens.
