no its supposed to be level, adjust the rear bracket up by twisting it round the box so the tail pipe touches the bumper (tailpipe will sag away from bumper, don't worry)

the pulley tool comes with 2 cogs - for non VVT cars you have to buy the extra cog which replaces the lower one so you can use the tool on a VVT engine
