    driveshaft help!

On the 172's changing just the boot is a b**ch, but can be done. Depending how long you've been driving it split depends if you can just change the boot. If you havent been driving it long/for many miles then just change the boot, re-grease and off you go.

    Noisy boot lid

There's a better answer, if you open the boot and look at the plastic boot lining where the metal "n" shaped catch is, there's a small hole with a torque screw in it, its as simple as tightening that up. Tighten it up a bit, and check it closes where you're happy with it, if it done, tighten it...

gearbox rebuild.. bearing, seals part no's?

Seems a very good price that. You know anyone that has had work done there before?

    this is my 1.2 :D

Are you joking? Or trying to be cool? It's quite clearly lowered, looks really good so far, the only thing I wouldn't go with is the angel eyes. would ruin a tidy looking car IMO. Black wheels suit the black/silver theme down to the ground.

What colour to do rub strips and door handles?

Satin black, won't stand out too much, but will bring all the plastics back to life and look much tidier.

    couple of quests of Ph1

Hi mate, trying to understand what you want as best as possbile, so I apologise if I'm way off track: The paint that goes over the silver parts is very soft as standard, you're better of painting them with a standard spray paint, and then lacquering over them, this makes them nice and scratch...

    Fog Lights

Remove the covers, there are holes ready for the fogs, with points to screw into, but the hole for the screw needs one of those metal clip things you screw into if that makes sense. Can't remember the name of one off hand. I think the fogs are clio specific, although I'm not certain, if some...

cambelt issue 10 days after replacement

He does Reanult sport's for a living? Didn't think so. Take the time to read what people are saying, most people on here only take their car to a Renault Sport specialist to have the belts done as they are notoriously done wrong. There are specialist locking tools, only for the 2.0 clio that...

    retro fitting fog lights

I've answered this so many times its unreal really should do a guide.... Trying to wire it into the stalk is a right pain, as you're stalk only has rear fog on it, not front and rear. Personally I hard wired them in, i.e battery>fuse>switch>fog and then earth the fog on any earth point in the...
