Went to see Rob today (TheEvilGiraffe) who helped me give the car its first half proper going over in practically forever...
Car was washed to get road dirt from the jourey off, we then clayed the car (for the first time EVER), attempted to remove tar spots with AG tar remover and failed, and...
Well done for having a go mate and it looks a hell of a lot better but I've gotta agree that the finish would have been a lot better if you'd spent some time on finishing it off.
You could still make it look a lot better still, starting off with some 300 grit, then 500 then 800 then paint it...
Its glued on, on the inside of one of the clips!!! Air gun may be a shout, but if its been done by a garage then it'll probably be alderite so maybe no chance.
P.s I h'actually just ate some weetabix!!!
Think I managed to get the cap I screwed up back to a resonable state of primer yesterday, so I'm going to sand it back today and put some paint on it. If the results are bad it'll be a new centre cap :(
Looking really good this mate. Colour coding looks spot on, can I ask where you had and done and how much it was?
Ph2 rear lights make such a difference too :)
Wish I could get my "grill" type thing off, one side has been glued in :( (want to cry)
One last question, how did you find...
Looks like you're going all out with it mate. Hope it goes well, Really like the car, checker graphics are quite cool actually. See what you meant in my thread about being quite similar to mine :)
Cheers mate, Its no impressive track project but its something to keep me occupied and learn on.
Gonna have a go at painting up some replica skirts next, if this goes well, i'll move onto side strips then front and back bumpers.
Dude someone is breaking a silver ph1 atm in the for sale threads, I'm sure you could get any bits and bobs you need off of him!
Just a heads up :)
Edit: oh and pics?
I'm going to take it all off one day next week mate so I'll let you know if i fix it.
This is the cars second front bumper so maybe it just wasnt put back right?
Now I do wanna cry! Car could really do with it, and I coulda done with the help! Cheers for the thought of the offer though. LOL!
Being poor means my cleaning products are gone. I used the last tiny bit of my shampoo today which is why it's not quite as shiny as usual.
Got an interview weds...
I can't decide, some of my mates hate them without centre caps, some think it looks awesome without, and I really don't know.
Rob, Cheers, clean-ish but not by your standards tbh :o. I couldn't actually afford some SRP either, so I still haven't got around to giving it a damn good polish!
I was thinking put some black bolt caps on the wheel bolts, and get a whole new set of those gold caps that go on the end of the axels? I'm kinda feeling the no cap's look.
So I cleaned the car today and found some pictures of before it was lowered/wheel refurb'd, I tired to take some shots to mimc them to best show the difference.
Not looking bad for an 11yr old car IMO :)

Oh and an upclose pic of my hard...
Not the nicest of days, but I gave the car a clean since fitting my newly refurbed alloys and lowering it :)
I fucked up one centre cap whilst painting, thats being fixed at the moment and then they will be back on (I think)
Or do I go for no centre caps, new shiny things to cover the end...
As I said in the other thread, very nice. Could do with two/three things though...
The removal of that spoiler (saw one tonight in the flesh for the first time and I can't say I like it)
The removal or re-adjusting of that exhaust so it sits higher and tighter to the bumper.
Refurbing those...
Yeah mirrors are on the list, unofficially though! LOL
Its currently lowered 60 and I'm really happy with it tbh. The pics don't do it that much justice to be honest.
I'll give it a wash and take some pics on my drive the same as previous ones so you can see just how high it was!
Cheers for...
Might be an idea to make a list of parts you have and just take offers on them? Surely you'd make more cash monies that way? Or just bung up a lot of pics so people can effectively look around it?
