If you look in the other thread Mike you'll see. Wasn't amusing but fine in the end.
Just an expensive mistake knocking it out. Not cheap for 3L of the of the stuff!!
Ok update time, yes its dirty and the pics are only iPhone but stilll... Clean pics in a few days.
Lowered and freshly refurbed wheels (with no centre caps for the time being)
Also after moaning like nuts about the tyre fitters a lot of it was just black off the tyre, and it came out with a...
Hope the rears really are that easy to do mate, tmrw morning that'll be. :D Just hope the bolts arent as tight as the passenger side ones.
Oh trust me mate I did throw a mare, a proper one, I got the tyres on a MASSIVE discount and an apology.
Stu, I already have electric windows mate...
Ok so project "update" had two snags today....
First off I went to somewhere I knew I could get some bargain tyres from, but due to them being cheap, they scratched the cr@p out of my newly painted wheels, yes I actually wanted to cry.
Then whilst lowering the car the drive shaft decided to...
Cheers for the help all. It was covered up quite well by an aftermarket alarm I had fitted, just made it very hard to see!
Car is now sorted, but due to the unexpected gearbox piss all over my drive incident only the front is currently lowered, looks f**king mint though!
Can someone tell me where the gear box level plug is on a 1.2 8v???
Drive shaft has just popped out whilst lowering, pissed oil everywhere, need to refil.
As soon as i saw this thread I knew you'd come in and go crazy! LOL
But.... I am going for a job tmrw, if I get it you can have my bumper as I fancy a 172 one but couldnt afford to have it sprayed atm.
Perfect condition etc.
Kinda hard to explain.....
Its another block, that goes inbetween the cars one and the stereo one, this one has wires for all for speakers, but plugging that into the car block would have no effect so then from that i cut the wires on it for the rears and hooked up the speaker cables direct...
After fitting a ph1 172 interior to the car I have been wondering if it is possible to restore the leather at all??
I know with sofa's you can get coloured leather polish and then give it a clear coat of polish to get scratches out, would this work on a car?
The interior is in pretty good nick...
If you do find these 4 pins would you take some pics and show me them? I *think* I was looking for something similar. When i was fitting my alpine headunit.
Re: cleaned/euro mk2 phase 1 (in the works)
I hate you, your ph1 is basically where I want my car to be in terms of so many things:
How clean it is
How nice the paint work is
How low it is
The fact its colour coded
It has 182 seats
Nice car so far man, well played
As for your plans, love the...
There is an adapter you can get to fix this, I got it from a local audio shop as my 1.2 RN was only set up for two speakers. Go to a local car audio shop and ask explain what you mean. They'll know what you need. You have to mod the wiring a little even with this connector, but its easy enough...
Wow I'd forgotted how bad it was after the crash, I remember the original thread! Looking brilliant now, looks so much better not colour coded IMO, I think the black works really well with the weird colour it is!
V unique car.
Cheers for the help mate.
Budgie, I am pretty much flat broke, I'm still looking for a job, so it certainly wasnt £160 I'd have to spend. It was a pain sanding that, but afterwards the sense of achievement it well worth it.
Cheers for the comments everyone, these will be polished up and put...
Sell out tbh! The halfords guys will do no better than you if you take your time mate. I've seen them work and half the time its trial and error like it is when you do it yourself.
If anything, if you have the patience to do it yourself you can make it better than they could.
Yeah sure that'll be great :) I'll have to hide it outta shot but that'd be great. I get to practice my paint skills on those skirts before i do the colour coding! LOL!
Cheers Megz :) x
