I've got the 8v with 90-odd thousand on it, was an RN base spec but i've changed that slightly... feels like its got forever left in it, but it has had every repair going.....
Just a few of the things its had done...
Head gasket
Cambelt failure so rebuild there...
Clutch
Both rear wheel bearings
Its not shorting as such, but the way i have it wires at the moment isnt right. I need to try figure out why the passenger control on the drivers side needs a loop in it before I put one in. Pretty sure this is how it is as standard, I just need to figure out what power cable i need to run to...
Sorry only just got back on here, passenger side window now working, wires are run to make drivers side control passenger but I need to figure out why i keep blowing fuses when trying to do this.....
I need to put some sort of loop into the switch but I don't yet understand why....
I'm not happy with you! Where's this bad weather? Git! Gta get the passenger side working today, and the drivers side controlling the passenger one! Scary!
Cheers Jord, god knows what it is then!!! But now matter what it is, got it wired back up and in the car yesterday :D b*****d thing works too.
Cheers for everyones help with this :)
Jesus, sounds like you've spent enough time emailing them to get what you wanted. Shows that buying a new car doesnt always have so many ups. Glad to hear its getting fixed though.
Wondered what all the traffic was about tonight, at least now I know.
Ps rob/mike, got one bloody window working perfectly on the new switch, doing other tmrw. Having a mangasm right now
Mate coming to mine tonight, he's gonna help me get the cable on (need 4 hands) then from there we're gonna take it to a local underground car park as it'll be lit, and do the other side. Should be finished tonight. w00p
I bought these motors from a scrappy, can go back and get the others all in tact but tbh I cant be bothered! So I'm battling through the hard way!
When i say working darren I mean i have the motor (which moves with the switch) on a mechanism that fits in the car. All I've gotta do is pull this...
I never knew there was a clip on the window though, and without getting that off its ni on impossible to remove!!!
Off now, solved, although I see what you mean about needing two pairs of hands for getting the cable back on!! Will have to get a mate tmrw.
Mines the same as yours mate, but I prefer the one with all the lights in the middle. Another mod to be done... lol!
Thought it was something on very basic spec early mk2 ph1's
Sorry phone stopped recieving everything!!! No idea why.
I am no longer grumpy in the slightest my friend. I need a good strong pair of hands to help me with something, but once i've done that its all gravey, baby!!!
I now see what aluco was saying about not being able to do it by yourself...
Will be 100% worth it when you've finished, my interior conversion has almost made me want to kill a man, but just got it sorted and I will have moveable windows by saturday I feel like I love my car already.
Scenic, BUT....
f**k A DUCK I JUST MANAGED TO GET ONE GOING PROPERLY.
If a man could orgasm with out any kind of sexual action, this is what it would feel like.
I have the cable 90% sorted, just need a second mate with strong hands to help me pull it over the last pully, once i've done this...
Fail, massive one. everything would have been so easy its untrue but then i struck two different problems.
If i could solve either I would have no problem.
The cable from my motors is too thick, meaning it doesnt fit into the new motor, f**kING JOKE.
There are very slight differences in the...
In some way.... if i can get the cables onto my new motor, great, if not i'm going to go and get the two motors out of the rear of the scenic, and be VERY careful to get them out in one piece. They'll be free, so its not a problem if they dont work.
Gonna have a crack at it now, wish me luck...
I've got it out, now gotta try and attatch my motor to this mech, LOL!
I thought it could be but the thing that makes me doubt it is the following diagram in the electric window guide:
Btw the guide explains how the motor works.... (my mech had no crossing of the cables...)
Can you??
It has come out of my mk2 ph1, but I believe it to be a mk1 motor and mechanism as it works on changing polarity.
Many thanks to those who help
Pretty sure that because he wasn't wearing a seatbelt he hasn't got a leg to stand on. Tell him that and tell him to tell his dad. He has no way of proving that it wasn't sole-ly because he wasn't wearing a seatbelt that he sustained the injuries.
As he is over a certain age it is 0% your...
I have actually mate. I'm gonna be taking the plunge tonight and taking the old motor out to try thread the cables onto the new one.
Once i've got one motor working i'll test all the switches and give you on if i have enough that work.
I have all the wiring for the switches working now, no problems at all. (Quite proud of this tbh ;) )
I'm trying to contact josh from cliospares to see what he wants fro a complete motor and runner setup.
Problem being, Daniel outlined to me that these current electric windows are infact a...
You are arguably THE worst picture taker ever but its looking good so far, its screaming three things at me, lower me, colour code me, and the wheels are screaming space me.
Got the potential to look great.
That is a bloody good price IMO, would have to change out the interior, remove the stickers, and set up the coilies properly but that'd be it.
Oh and make sure the cam belt's been done.
This, around xmas, I'd buy.
