there ARE three screws in the steering column which you need to remove (from underneath the column), it is not necessary to change the position of the column to see them, there are three screw holes in the bottom of it!, and yes this is necessary to remove the dash top, as if you look sensibly...

yep standard on a 172, not standard on a cup or dynamiques etc.

the mount will go on either the left or right hand side, but i think it is far better suited on the left, its either going to be a case of shaving some plastic away, or going through the vent, hopefully I can push them through the vent like i did on the older clio.

ahh, no good mate, I have a motorised 7" screen in the dash, so it cant go anywhere near that. Its, either near the vents, or down the bottom by the passengers footwell (on the centre console) but I guess that would mean screwing into the console.

Has anyone fitted a full nokia car kit into a mk2 172 before? I have just ordered one and am wondering where the best mouting place is going to be for it? I want to try and avoid drilling into the dash pieces, does anyone know where I can order the specialised brackets from?

i put 17s on my old clio with 60mm springs, the car now has a buggered driveshaft and has had to have a wheel bearing replaced.

gotta say, a shiny black V6 with shiny 18" wheels is going to look the mutts nutts.
