That thread just shows that everyone is saying Renault recommend 3 years over 5 (that they used to say) due to failures, and you're the only guy arguing against it.
As I said, get it changed at 36k/3years if you're not a cheapskate ;)
I believe it makes sense to - so if you think of the Aux as having a 2.5 year life, then you can change it in between each cambelt service.
And surely the aux has to come off to do the cambelt anyway? So really if you de-tension it then you have to change it?
Sure, they do but if his pads are down to nothing, they're not going to go much further in 2 or 3 trips (seeing as they're not used that much)!
May as well get some semi-ok pads (perhaps even cheaper).
Problem is, if you tell them where to go and send it back, then you have to wait for another one.
Pretty sure they're already in short supply, so cleaning it yourself outweighs waiting for ages.
But like I said, if you have a bit of knowledge/common sense, you won't let "random" java apps runs, and who uses Flash these days? ;)
Swings & Roundabouts.
Just about to pay now!
Dave - the Ktec IK takes a while to fit tbh - maybe worth finding someone who has had their run done first, and then fit that Ktec kit on your first run, that way its a lot easier to switch over!
I've got one also, so if need be I can also do the switch etc.
