Faith has nothing to do with it. You're still wrong in a number of respects.
Firstly, the grade used there is 800, granted. But did you see the state of the lights? Secondly, it's used by an air pressure rotary drill. So will be a more evenly prepped surface. Have you wet sanded by machine and...
Clay and cleansers will remove wax. Granted. But not in hard to reach areas.
Therefore as someone has suggested, a soak down/snow foam of decent strength APC will clear previous layers. G101 is an excellent example of such.
P1 is a polish. You don't apply it, rather work it as you would a polish.
I've used it only a handful of times and like it by hand. Yet to try it by machine as I don't have my kit in London.
C2 is epic. Spray on a panel at a time and buff off. That's it. Also works well on plastics, glass...
I wouldn't have mentioned G3 as I hate the stuff.
But on headlights it's not so bad I guess.
Personally I would be looking at 2000 then 3000 grit wet and dry. Then polish up using scratch x or menz IP3.02 or 203s.
But Roy, I am irrational. A lot of people are in their own little way.
I see swirls in my bathroom sink and think I need a new one. I used rainx on my shower so the water beads off it and I don't have to see lime scale deposits...
I have no qualms with people thinking I'm weird. I came to...
Comparable was the correct term Roy. You care what your car looks like. We care what ours look like.
The difference is you refurbed what were basically new wheels (madness to some perhaps?); we do what it takes to protect our paint work.
You want your wheels to look nice so you spent x amount painting them to make you happy; Kev and I want our cars to look clean so we spend £££s on cleaning products and protect the cars on long journeys.
The only difference is we are in a minority.
Actually I do give a f**k. Which is why I do it.
What's that? Worth more when I sell it? What a farking silly idea.
Considerably higher loller than you's.
Surely comparable to changing the wheel colour on your car? Do you give a damn what others think?
I don't care if others see my car as dirty. I'm bothered if I see it as dirty.
What's the point in wrapping the front of your car in film protecting it from stone chips? People still do it.
I would be very surprised if anyone I know would charge you.
Pay for petrol, maybe. But it will take very little time - unless there are issues with your paint (low readings). In which case I would be advising you not to correct it yourself without the PDG on hand.
