You don't have to use a pressure washer or hose. Spray on a degreaser like Megs Super Degreaser. Aggitate in the worst areas with a decent brush. Use a damp MF to "rinse" the product off. It's the safest option.

Manual focus is your friend for this. Always set the DSLR up on manual, then you can really pick up decent swirl shots and 50:50s.
