Wash, clay, wash, dry, polish, wax/seal.
The reason for leaving the car wet when you clay is so that you keep a bit of lubrication between the paint and the clay bar. You will need to use clay lube anyway (comes with the kits mentioned above) but this just adds to it to make it as safe as poss.
Shush you ;) Oh and I'm going to send you a "you were right" PM in a sec, diseasel related ;)
Claying is the use of, as it sounds, a piece of clay. Clay has very sharp microscopic "blades" that cut across the surface of the paint. Anything that sticks up, out of place of the flat paint surface...
No issue buddy, all here to help.
Claying is done to remove microscopic contaminants off the paint surface. Think about a razor on your paint surface "cutting" all the lumps of sap, tar and fallout.
It helps to make the surface "glass smooth".
No to the Fairy - this is chatter about whether...
Try not to limit yourself like this buddy. Simple fact is, not all suppliers will have the products you are after. I still have to shop at three different places.
I would decide on what you want, find all you need from one store, the rest from the next. It's the only way to do it.
I wouldn't get the tech wax. What do you want, long lasting, looks or both?
The Megs polishes are OK, but the Menzerna polishes are better and easier to use (IMO).
Dan, from the supplier;
"doesn't seem to affect it too bad if a relatively weak concentration. stronger concentrations will compromise longevity though."
"If it's a caustic tfr used almost neat then I'd say it'd compromise the finish. Surlely if he picks something that's non caustic and uses...
The black one on DW Kev?
Agreed on EGP. Remember I put on a really thick layer when I first bought it. The Clio had more swirls after trying to remove it than it did before correction!
First off, I'm glad this has attracted some attention for Rob's product as it really is superb.
Dan, that I don't know, but I can ask if you'd like?
No problem Jim, really worth it for cars that you have upkeep contracts with, as this will cut your finishing time in half.
As Gally says...
Bought one bottle buddy. Used about half, but defo too much. Could have used less but got round all rubbers and plastics.

Probably because we all presumed that someone who is being paid to work on a car knows what they are doing, even if they haven't listed it. I.e. that he would either wipe down with IPA or apply a product that would allow the EGP to bond properly. One presumes I fill my buckets with water, rather...
The DAS and Megs are (if memory serves) actually made by the same company, just branded differently. If this is no longer the case, in all honesty, they are much of a muchness, so either or.
Try a Custom Code remap for the after 5k issue lad.
Agreed on the steering. But ESP is switched off before you put your seatbelt on, not while driving ;)
