I say let her drive it, as long as she is going to be careful with it. Dunc will always let me drive whatever car he owns as he knows I will treat it better than I treat my own, and mine gets seriously babied. I don't let him drive mine as I know if given half the chance he would just have to...
Could you not drop her off at the junction onto this road and let her walk the rest of the way? Either that or (pardon the expression) grow some balls and just tell her NO! lol
We had a similar problem with Wilsons in Epsom years ago when we wanted to test drive the new (as it was then) Renault 19. The Sales guy told us we couldn't test drive it unless we promised to buy it. We were allowed to look around the outsdie of it, but that was all.
At Wilsons ~Groans~ on...
I'll answer this for him being as he is downstairs waiting for the Grand Prix to start.
We were both at Wilsons on Friday. I went to pick up a couple of coils for my Clio, and then we had a look around to see what cars they had we could test drive.
Did you spot his Coupe then?
I don't know if there is such a thing as a 'correct way', but what I do is, make sure the bonnet is about 6 inches high and then let it drop. It then slams with a nice heavfty clunk, which should then mean it is well and truely closed. I have seen many people who gently lower the bonnet until...
Oooer, I haven't got a letter either. I thought it was only the older ones that had this problem. Hmmm, hate the idea of Renault getting anywhere near my car! I'll let them check mine as long as they do it right infront of me, not going to let the buggers loose with it again after last time! :nono:
Well I shall have to agree to disagree with you there Gaz. My 1.6 did indeed leave Duncs 1.6 Saxo behind. He complained that he had to 'Thrash the b****cks' out of it to try and keep up. This is why he got shot of the Saxo and got his 2.0ltr Megane Coupe. You don't have to believe me at all, but...
I think the idea behind the unlocking of the doors may be something to do with having the passenger door locked whilst stationary at traffic lights and stuff, without you having to lock all doors. Personally speaking I think it is unnecessary being as locking your door and the passenger door at...
Yep totally agree. There are other things I don't like about it, but I was prepared to overlook those until I drove it.
Being such a short arse , the fact the car is so much higher could be a problem. Once the tailgate is open I have to stand on my tip toes to reach it to close the darn thing...
Well, what can I say? I was under the impression I was going to get a decent test drive, but apparently Renault are only insured for short distances, and believe me they were not kidding. My test drive wasn't more than 10 minutes.
Anyway, onto my opinions of it. Well, firstly I was impressed...
If it was me I would go for the Clio 1.6, but then again I'm biased because I have one. lol
I'm not into the Golf anymore, it's got too big and chunky. The Fiesta is ok, but again just doesn't do it for me.
As for the Saxo that Gazz has suggested. DON'T DO IT! They are really slow compared...
She's in the garage at the moment having them done. She should be ready at about 4pm. I got two coils to go in once she's come back too. They're the reason we were at Wilsons in the first place. lol
We did ask Wilsons if they had a 138 we could test drive, but it seems not only have they not got one but they don't seem to be interested in getting one either. It appears that Wilsons are convinced only the 1.2,(Man) 1.4 (Man) and the 1.6(Auto) Clios will sell.
They only had 5 new Clios in...
Actually Doug my heart isn't with the newer shaped Clio at all! It was when it first came out but I have gone off the looks quite abit and unless the drive is superb ( which I doubt very much), I will not be buying one.
There is absolutely no way I will get rid of my 1.6 in fravour of the new...
Well Doug, the thing is it's a Clio and before I really give it the 'no go' I should really be fair and test drive it first. I am definitely not expecting much of it though .
As for the Twingo, I am seriously interested in what Renault might do to it. I am hoping they will do the 1.4 Turbo...
