Hiya Geordie. It's nice to hear you have bought a 1.6. I'd stick to 16" alloys , that's what I have on mine. As for which ones to buy that's rather difficult to say as we all have very different tastes in alloys. Try looking here, it will give you some idea of styles.

Update:
I went out to listen to my car whilst stationary, no noise. I then decided to take Dunc out with me to see if he could track it down. At first he wasn't sure where it was coming from, but as we drove further and up the bypass it got pretty darn loud. We finally decided it's coming from...
Yep! Although it appears this time they have only charged for 1 hour 30 minutes and they checked the tracking too. The other garages we rang also said it would take 2 hours. I have never changed a front wheel bearing so I don't know what's involved.
I am a tad worried now though. The front...
Bloody hell Mikey, where did you take yours?
I didn't get the £200+ bill I was expecting. They charged me £144.19 all in.
The horrible bit about it is, the front is now sweet, but I swear something else is singing, sounds like a bearing but it sounds like it's coming from the middle of the...
I'm expecting a bill of around £200 ish as they are doing my tracking as well.
I really do hate the fact that I can't do the work anymore as it's costing me loads. I know Renaults can cost abit , but bloody hell!
My garage charges £48.00 +VAT per hour. Then of course there is the cost of the bearing, which shouldn't be much more than £30 or so plus VAT. I seem to be throwing money at my garage big time at the moment. It's one thing after another. I've got two more coils to be replaced soon too. I think...
Ah okey dokey. Thanks for that. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't getting stuffed with labour charges.
Cheers! :D
Edit: That's two bloody bearings done in four weeks. Darn Renaults. lol
Being as the mechanic mentioned the gearbox, the only thing that makes sense to me there is, maybe a mount?
I had the same problem with bearings. I had some vibration at the front, I knew my n/s front bearing was going so had that done. The vibration on that side stopped. Had it in the...
If Renault suspect your new exhaust may have caused the problem then they will not cover it under warranty. They will try to wriggle out of it anyway, we all know what Renault dealers are like.
Could be the lambda (sp) sensor. I wouldn't take it to Renault though, they will want to do a diagnostic on it first, which costs roughly £80, and that's before they find out what's wrong.
Any decent garage will be able to do a diagnostic and find out if you have a faulty coil. It won't be that cheap if you need one replaced either as although replacing one should only take 10 mins tops, the garage will undoubedly charge a minimum of an hours labour, plus parts and VAT.

I totally agree about Eibachs. I have the complete pro kit on mine (springs and dampers) and initially it dropped by 30mm but after settling she dropped roughly another 5mm.
I was told that the sportlines can make the ride a tad hard, that's why I went for the pro kit. I had it done over a...
Sounds like it could be a faulty coil to me. I had two go at once a while back, now I have another one playing up a tad. When it's behaving she runs really well, but when the coil decides to play up the tick over is a tad lumpy and noisey (sounds abit like a black cab) and when you try and boot...
I am wondering whether you could have a faulty coil. I know I have a coil on it's way out and on a bad day she kind of sounds like a black cab and really doesn't seem to want to go for it. When the coil is behaving she sounds fine and goes like a rocket.
Just an idea.
I had my n/s front wheel bearing done a few weeks ago at the same time I had new brake pads fitted. On Sunday on the drive back form the South East Westerham meet I heard my o/s front bearing whining a little. By the time I got home the wheel was pretty damn hot. I had to take her out again...
Hustlechild; I'm with Seb here mate, it's all getting incredibly boring. I am pleased for you that you like your new car. It would be a shame if you had bought it only to decide you didn't like it that much, and I can understand you raving about it as it's your new toy.
I have never driven a...
Looks pretty nice. If you are impressed with it, offer him 4.5 and go up from there to no more than 5k.
What Car says 6.9k for an 04 model from a dealer. So 5k would be pretty fair I reckon, less if you can manage it of course. ;)
Bloody hell, that could have been nasty. I have heard about this with Clios before though, this is why I let my bonnet drop from about 6 inches to make sure it's well and truely shut. Of cousre this is not to say it won't vibrate open which is what I have heard they sometimes do. Nasty!
