I know that Alpines are the dogs.. and sound top notch, but can they not hire somebody from sony to make them look a bit better.. personally when I buy a HU I want one that looks like its worth 500 quid, not like I just bought it out of the argos catalogue.
it is basically a poorly set up gatso, there is one round next to Edinburgh Zoo, everytime I am coming the other way I set it off just incase there is film in it (wasted 1 image)
I have a GPS unit with car kit, let me just say that they are bloody accurate !
It says my speedo is out about 1 mile an hour at 30 rising to about 2 mile an hour at 100mph
Normally when I get pulled and I know the cops dont have anything on me I get really cheeky to them.
I know I shouldnt, but sometimes I cant help myself and they end up looking like complete clowns infront of my mates.
I think I must try to stop it cause it will get me into trouble one day.
I did it online so I know exactly what my excess is. Tesco now provides a curtosey car if you pay a little extra, although I havent gone for this option I will when I renew.
I really dislike the contis I find them unpredictable.. sometimes they will grip.. other times its like there is no grip at all.
Deffinatly dont like Contis, would rather spend more (or less as this case may be) on what I feel would be a better tyre.
yep the blue ones monitor traffic levels, jams etc.
What gets me about road tax though is a person who uses there car 1 time a year pays the same amount as someone who uses it for 12 hours a day.
Why not abolish road tax and substitute it with the price of petrol (not saying petrol prices...
ye can people give them a 1-4 rating .. 1 being best tyre allround .. I have never used any of the above tyres and will need some new fronts soon (might get all 4 done though) and want to know which one i should go for.
Well first of all,
Tesco gave me my cheapest quote when I was looking for insurance for my 172, at £780 fully comp I wasnt complaining.
Now I just phoned up to add my GF to my policy for a week, she is 21 with a provisional license, no NCB, no accidents/convictions
Guess how much to add...
I also saw one of em about a week back, I was travelling from Edinburgh to Peebles, the guy was just setting up at the side of the road, from what I could see there were no obvious markings on the van, just a plain white van.
As my tax is current (and always has been, although I resent paying...
I can honestly say the 172 will do over 140MPH reaching nearer 150mph as tested on me nans privite runway with my GPS tracker, the Clio 172 speedo isnt out as much as you think.
Err, arent the brakes on the 172 pretty damn good already ? other than for less fade after prolonged periods of braking (eg trackdays) what reason is there to upgrade ?
Could be a faulty solanoid, but you will prolly have to replace the starter motor aswell as most solanoid are now intergrale parts of the starter motor.
Just thought I would butt in to this intensive discussion
When I was looking for a new car I looked at both the 106 GTi and the Clio 172
This is what I came up with:
Pros for 106 GTi
1) Superior Handling
2) Cheaper Insurance
Pros for Clio 172
1) Good Handling
2) Faster than 106 GTi...
I think private plates are a waste of money and laugh at people that pay extorsionate amounts just to own a few letters stuck to thier car.
Although I wouldnt mind
172
Just getting to 8000 miles and my fronts will need replaced soon, backs are okay though.
I figured I might aswell replace all 4 with Proxies/f1s while I am at it.
