maybe they lightened up the clutch on the 172 mk2 ? just a thought, but I could in no way describe my clutch as heavy.

mine has a crap range on it too, a few meters at best, but if your next to the car it works flawlessly everytime. I am gonna change that batteries in the keys, see if that helps it a bit.

My 172 Doesnt have a heavy clutch, infact I would say its quite light. My pug 205 GTi used to have a bugger of a heavy clutch, it actually hurt the ball of my foot in traffic. ! 172s are great, really fast, and handle really well ... get one !

I dont think anyone has for 2 reasons, 1 it will invalidate the warranty and 2 the seat has the pretesioner wiring and side airbags intergrated into it.

I have a s0ny headunit too, I will ONLY buy s0ny if I can. While I agree Alpine probably sound better than a s0ny. Has anyone actually LOOKED at an Alpine.. they are hideous. I like the nice looking s0ny headunits, which give a good quality sound out. Great choice of headunit, looks good...

Not true, the cable may be in perfect condition but the sender unit from the gearbox may be faulty. If the cable is kinked or dry etc. this could cause the same symptoms.

and old mate of mine (not mates with him anymore) got beaten by a transit van, he was driving a 1.0l Uno (that was shagged), my mate was really trying to beat it, but the best bit was the transit driver wasnt trying.. hehe, he didnt even know my mate was trying to race him.. what a tw*t he was...
