New desk! Still some tidying to do but finally got plenty of space and can use my wheel and pedals, retro arcade joystick or the flight sim joystick at will.
Plus cup holders. Who doesn’t need cup holders 😂
Should do the job fine. The M.2 drives connect straight to the PCI bus so it's hard to go wrong with a PCI slot adaptor for them as it literally just has to connect the right pins.
Yep, it's an NR200. It's only running a 10th gen i7 11700 with a 65w TDP so that little Noctua cooler will do the job just fine. I'd probably throw one of the chunky BeCool! LP coolers in there if I was running something hotter.
Really enjoyed it in the end!
Case was great to work in, everything went smoothly, a genuinely enjoyable build.
Only job left to do is swap out the top fans for some Noctuas I have in the other case, as the ones supplied with this are a little bit louder than I’d like.
CPU cooler is missing from my delivery. Company say they are overwhelmed with customer queries because of postal strikes so give them four days to respond to emails about missing items. 🤷♂️
I also ordered an ATX power supply by mistake. For some reason my brain translated the "RMx" in the part...
Eufy are in the middle of a bit of a scandal about their supposed "all your data stays local, nothing in the cloud" functionality. In as much as, they totally lied about it.
If that's important to you then it's worth keeping in mind.
I did something stupid. Again.
I fancied doing a case transplant as I don't like the XPS case at all.
Then I decided I wanted to upgrade the motherboard, because the Dell one is pap and won't even let me enable XMP. I don't need more memory performance, it just annoys me that I can't have it...
They had me in stitches on the first car auction video they did where they bought a shonky range rover (is there any other kind) and the caravan ones too.
Just a couple of blokes cocking around, what's not to like.
I admire the effort which must have gone into it, but it's pure insanity. £22.5k for something where the fun is at least partially in the journey of building the thing. I do get the lure of having one of the most powerful cars of it's type but bloody hell.
I’d say either someone has put an older plate on it or it’s a 2002 car which was imported and allocated an age appropriate plate when brought into the UK and registered here.
Hell, I wouldn't have listened to me either when I was starting out. Boring old fart, f**k off, had to get what I could afford to insure and modding is fun.
I used to use compressed air cans at work, but honestly they are a bit s**t as they don't last long, get super cold and are expensive over time.
Bought one of those air cleaners linked above instead and it's a great bit of kit, really powerful, but the cost buys quite a few cans of compressed...
You won’t be able to do anything that requires accessing the internet or the phone - so no messaging, calls, navigation, maps, etc
It will still work fine as an activity/workout tracker and for apple pay.
To be fair, I sold the X5 to Daniel and bought the Golf off him, so I'm as much sinner as sinned against.
I totally, totally would have had this if I'd not bought the Macan - it tickles every single one of my car buying vulnerabilities, of which there are many :ROFLMAO:
Glad to see it stay on...
Keep thinking I might map the Golf, then I punch myself in the face to remind myself how stupid that would be for what is just my OH's daily driver and get on with my day.
I'd say don't do anything else unless it's free/very cheap.
Enjoy it for what it is and save the money you would have spent on modding it for something better later on down the line.
