My remap on my 197 strange,,,

Just checked its Sagem S3000 management not the Siemens Sirius 34 like the 1*2. Didn't think it was the same, slightly more advanced I believe (or cheaper!).

My remap on my 197 strange,,,

I'm almost 100% sure its a sagem in the meggy not a siemens. 197 may be the same though, the 1*2 is siemens.

    vvt pulley knackered

If it fails it'll be as good as the cambelt snapping but its up to you. Do a search for DrRollo's case of this.

    vvt pulley knackered

Yep cambelt needs to come off and DO NOT run the engine anymore.

    Clio v6.... CAT B

Nope cat A and B shouldn't ever return to the read, only cat C and D can be repaired and cat c has to go through a vic check first before getting the log book back iirc.

Which 40mm non-sport springs give the best drop?

Good choice, far better imo although they didn't drop enough for moi.

Which 40mm non-sport springs give the best drop?

Apex look the best but the ride is appaling and I don't know how anyone can say otherwise. It's like being dragged down a set of stairs on your face, biggest mistake I made tbh. Oh and the handling was probably worse than standard, same at very best. Looked s**te hot though.

    OMG!!! :(

"Eye catching" is one way of putting it I guess. f**king fowl is another.

Engine chugging soon after cambelt replacement!!!

Just to go down another route, did you use the locking tools to change the cambelt? If not the timing is most probably out hence the rough running, if it were a coil they disconnecting the bad one wouldn't make a difference.

    Washer bottle replacement

That one on ebays the wrong one anyway, thats for a car without washer jets. The washer jet tank is twice a big for some reason.

    Gear Box/ Starter

I'd start looking to see if anythings jamming anywhere that sort of thing if you can hear the starter running without engaging onto the fly.

HPI check has bought back some info!

Its stolen recovered then and that will effect resale value down the line imo, i'd walk unless it was cheap enough to warrent the hassle which i'm guessing its not.

    Gear Box/ Starter

    1.6 box will be a JB3, the proper 172 box is a JC5.

    Washer bottle replacement

They do split sometimes so i'd hazard a guess this is whats happened, don't think they're too expensive to get new from renault but don't quote me on that. Not too bad a job to change neither, wipers off and the skuttle and you're laughing.

    Leaking Suspension ???

As said it wants a new pair of rear shocks (they need to be replaced in pairs really) £50 a piece from a renault stealers and best to stick with oem stuff. Be careful as shot rear dampers tend to make them very tail happy.

FAO Engine bods - Whats happening? Pics.

Temp sender doesn't look too brilliant from the scale around the base but its hard to tell from those pics tbh.

    some more pics...

Cool, think i'll have to get out there sometime when the cars clean they all look a good backdrop for some pics especially walton hall. All not too far away neither.

    Engine Oil

The number is the distance the oil runs on a set incline at a set temp afaik? So the higher the number the further it runs so the thinner it is? Unless i'm getting it the wrong way round again.

    Alpine/column remote - how?

Yep, used them in my 1.2, 1.6 and 172 no problems at all, and as long as the headunit loom is configured right as to the ignition and permanent lives you'll have no problem with the memory.

    some more pics...

Loving the supert wrc's suit the car really well! Where abouts were those pics taken? Looks a good location(s)?

    Engine Oil

It'll be a bit thinner generally but I can't see that being a problem with a track car tbh. Not like its going to need a lot of cold weather protection.

Oh My God What a Day. Dephaser Pulley anyone!!!!

Hairy muff missed that one, got a be a warrenty job then surely renault give a 12 month warrenty on parts for a start.

Oh My God What a Day. Dephaser Pulley anyone!!!!

Just says timing belt replaced? Not the dephaser and the belt will need doing again as it has to come off to change the pulley. Could get away with the tensioner and idlers if they were changed 4k ago and just do the two belts to save money.
