Doubt a suppressor will get rid of the alt whine though. As thats interferance acting on the cable to the mic, you'd need a grounded screened cable to eliminate it. The knock sensor uses screened cable if you look at it as it is just a microphone sensitive to specific vibrations.
The numbers roughly correlate to the torque rating of the box basically. The JB/JC series gearboxs are the old renault design boxes that i'm pretty sure they don't use in anything new anymore. The Mk2 Clio was the last car to use them I think.
As far as the Mk2 Clio goes:
1.2/1.2 16v/1.4 16v =...
From that picture you've posted theres been some water round there i'm guessing? Thats why wd40 would've worked for you as its a water displacer, if he's is dry it'll most likely just be the sensor its a commonish thing.
Get the coolant temp sensor changed. Cheap part about £20/30 from renault, its located on the righthand side of the engine screwed into the thermostat housing.
Either one of these will be fine.

Just make sure whatever you use is 75w80 and don't deviate.
Probably not as usually if someone else makes its renault sell it for a reasonble price, its the stuff they've got you nailed for you want to worry about.
Where you have two seperate circuits using the same ground should be 0v so theres no potential difference between them. A ground loop is when there is a potential difference between the two grounds of the circuits (ie 0v for one and 0.001v for the other) so you get interferance, i'd guess the...
I'd guess its the voltage reducer. When i've recorded in bay with the Clio i've always had a lot of alt whine but if its doing it whilst not running then its got to be the reducer.
Could be the speed control pack for the fan if the bars are moving and you can hear the flaps moving in the heater. Otherwise iirc theres fuse in the engine bay fusebox for the fan.
The speed control pack is a common one, mine went from working fine to fucked the next time I tried it because of...
Its ran by the aux belt so will be on the route of that somewhere. Following the pipes will be the best bet if you don't know what an ac compressor looks like. I'll go out on a limb and say it'll be a b*****d to get too on a vee.
Mine says £30 for a set £120 for 4x set. I'd ring your local stealers first before you write it off, my version of dialogys is from late 2007 so its much more up to date than the old 2003 version that gets sols on ebay. Hence the prices aren't very reliable from that.
If I *touch wood* make it to 4yr ncb next year i'll be protecting them, a mate whos 25 is paying £200 to protect his 4 so i'd say thats the current going rate. I'll only be 21 but I don't think age effects it?
The post cat sensor doesn't effect fueling at all as it can't read anything useful after the gasses have been through the cat. Its simply there to check that the gasses are being processed by the cat and that its working.
You can run them externally to the exhaust when fitting a decat to keep...
